As a Bassist, Im Still Getting Used to This

I changed the strings on my guitar again. They were dead. It's still weird to me that I have to change the strings so often. This is like my third set this year! Nobody changes bass strings that often.

So true! I have changed my guitar strings more in a year than my bass in 10!!!

Never used Roto 66s eh ? Sound fucking amazing on a Ric. For about 8-10 hours ( actual playing time). Then they sound like ass.

EXL-170s on a Spector on the other hand, well, my bass is 11 years old now and I think I'm on my second set.

Then again I have Slinkys on guitars that have been on there for I don't even know how long and they still sound great to me.

Every bass or guitar gets wiped down with Fast Fret after I play, every time. Wipe off the excess.

when I had my Steinberger L bass using double ball strings, I changed them frequently;

it was so quick and easy...I'd boil and oil the old set, put on another set, and I had 3 or 4 sets in rotation, which gave the mineral oil time to soak in.

Other basses I'd change them around 6-12 months when the started to sound dull and lifeless. How often depended on how much use the bass saw...for awhile I was changing bass strings every 3 months.

I bought my bass in 2016. I've never changed the strings.. LOL
I don't play it a lot either.. I have a set of 45-130 on the shelf.. Should I change them??
