As you have gotten older, has your tone and amps changed?

sorry i didn't see this thread earlier.. but i've been busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger the last couple of weeks.
it hasn't changed a whole bunch as i've gotten older. i still like a nice warm.. punchy tone with a bit of crunch to it.. like a plexi.
what has changed is that i've found other tones that i like as well as a stock crunch tone.. and i've been more open to experimenting with what i have in my collection. now.. if i'd spend more time playing and less time experimenting i might be on to something. :D

I actually quite similar. A tight, punchy Marshall tone has been my mainstay since starting guitar but lately I've really been into the sag, especially for finger stuff, that you get from a Fender style amp. Rockin' but a little loose. I owned a Lo Po Tweed Twin for a while that was great and I hope to get something with a little less power but similar in the future.

Big time, after playing Boogie amps for over 20 years,i'm looking at Marshall/Metro amps. And a few months ago i bought an older Kendrick amp,and i love it,no matter what,it sounds great, low gain and fat as hell,i love playing old blues now, meaning stuff from the 30's 40's.
Without sounding corny,"with age comes wisdom" and it's really true, and it's a great feeling.

i've got dsl that isn't working right now.. but when it was i could easily live with that. slp on one channel jcm 800 on the other. that's about all the gain i need for what i need to do.
if i need growl or a nasty meaty overdrive i've got my laney aor combo with a fane for that. and if i need a warm open clean with a bit of jangle.. i've got a carvin x-60 b 6L6 for that. if i don't pull the +20db boost on the lead channel it has a really rounded open tone.. which is great for slide parts.
i'd like to find something that does more modern tones as well.. but i'm not really in a hurry to get that done. it'll happen when it happens. i've got what i need.. for now. :D

I'm in the less gain/more mids category the older I get
