Sounds incredible, how is it mixed between the direct/edirol? Is it 50/50, one left and the other right? Are the signal levels equal?

Through my cheap ass laptop it sounds like I am in a huge stadium!!!!!!!!!!! Just amazing. I'm a plug in and play guy. Straight into my recto with an MXR EQ in the loop. I don't understand 1/2 of the things you are doing. However, I need to learn, and get on the AXEffect train, cause it sounds so damn good.

So would it be bad form to ask if you could post or send your presets? :D

I'm not in front of my PT's right now but from memory I think the Direct was hard left and right and much higher in the mix. The Edirol was lower and a little in from hard L and R, they were both stereo tracks. There was probably some phase cancellation, but it sounded ok so I didn't futz with it too much. I used a Waves C4 and LL3Ultramaximizer on the Master Fader during mixdown. Both stereo tracks had a Waves REQ4 inserted and they were both setup as a high and low pass thingo.

I'll double check. I wish there was a way to open PT on my MacBook Pro without lugging around my interface rack..pita!

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate it!!!
You guys are the best!

What kills me about the AxeFx is you can go from that freaking excellent rock tone you have going on, to this trainwreck type sound. It's just blowing my mind! Check the dynamics this guy gets, its not screaming VH type of playing but...listen anyway

wow...

Ok guys, what "can't" this thing do?

Why isn't everyone using it?
Anything it can't do??
Does it "Feel" like a real amp??

Keith

this is going to sound strange but it doesn't look like it feels like a real amp.

it seems to respond lighting fast aka no latency but there is no tube fat realism and third dimensionality around the notes i'm hearing, but there's plenty of high quality effects dressing up every tone i hear.

great tube tone makes me wanna hear it again and again.
this clip is impressive but has no inert longevity to the tone or timelessness that a great tube amp seems to generate. tubes deliver tones to my ears in a human non fatiguing way.

the latest 3 monkeys amp demoes have been doing that to me. biting into a ripe mango.

i'm a big proponent of as long as the final outcome is great then it's great so to that end the axe is way better than many tones i can think of and hope to play it tonight.

I hope you get to test drive one tonight as well Pat. I can hear what you are saying, but i'm wondering if that is going to change when you are actually in the room listening as opposed to hearing it via video clips. I bet it will. And if you do get to test drive it, take notes on the amp setup, whether its SS or tube amp you are pumping it thru, and for heaven sakes bring your video camera and tape it PLEASE!

Something that has been haunting me for a while, is trying to find an amp(head or combo) that is affordable and can go from rock sounds like Mark's clip above, to Tom Petty mild gain with woody overtones, to just balls out raunchy 70's rock tones. I can get an amp set close and it will do one or maybe two of the those sounds pretty good, but finding something that will cover all 3 in one package, it's starting to look like the AxeFx would be the way to go to cover that kinda ground.

I'm thinking it will change when you are in the room as well.

I can't believe how cool it sounds in the "room" and anyone that has been in the room can't believe it either :)

Ah the cruel hand of destiny....

So I was all stoked to try out the axe right?

Just heard the suhr boys kill it at the clinic.

But alas, rob/mr tone merchant tells me his axe rig is down due to a dead fryette poweramp.

Classic !
