you could use the axe just as you would the two notes unit with a real amp and have fx to boot.

No load in the Axe.

The Two-Notes also has an optional cabinet out like the Palmer. I've been using my Rivera Rockcrusher line-out into a power-amp for low-volume play, but this is looks better. I wonder if the optional cabinet out bypasses load/attenuation or post-attenuator?
Two Notes has an attenuator coming out this summer, maybe early summer. It does not have cab sims, but works as an attenuator would, with some nice DI options. One being your guitar signal for reamping later on (which I don't care for at the moment), and another a DI of your amp signal that can be sent to the DAW for cab sims. If you want to send a signal FOH, you can get the CAB pedal. It also has a knob to adjust your tone from vintage to modern. Not sure what that actually does yet, but it's there.

I'm looking forward to finding out more about this unit as time comes. I think it comes with a light version of the plug-in, but I'm not sure what a light version is.

Anyways, it sounds like a useful unit for loading your amp for silent recording at night with DAW cab sims, but still have an attenuator for your amp for that purpose if you need.
It does look cool ....

Wish it was rack mountable.

It does look kind of cool. It definitely looks better than my Alex and Countryman DI with strewn cables all over the place. This could take the place of all that, so I'm interested. The thing I'm not sure about is that it is a full on dummy load, then it reamps that signal to the speakers. So even when it's just barely attenuated, the amp is still loaded fully by the Reload. It's all going to depend on how good their loadbox is and how well it replicates the impedance of a speaker.

Two note, smart amp, etc. At this rate kemper and axe could get overtaken by all the new stuff that keep coming out

Fwiw, the two notes cab simulator has nothing on the Kemper cabs in my opinion. A good profiles cabinet is head over heels about the two notes simulations in my opinion.
Good point. Technology moves so fast so its a matter of time before something new revolutionizes. Like a few years ago tablets and smartphones weren't a blip. Now they get lines at apple store when they roll out new version. Meanwhile not much love for PCs...

But amps that were great 20 years ago will still be great 5 or 10 years from now, while today's modelers will be at the bottom of a scrap heap. Where did all those Axe-Fx standards go?

So we have 5 interesting choices in this Thread.

Axe Fx

Kemper

Kirk Hammet

Two Notes Cab IRs with Amp or Tube Preamp

Jessica Alba

Is there a Library of Professionally done Profiles that ships or is available with the Kemper and how many ?

Those of you who have tried either the Two Notes Torpedo [ has load box ] or the Cab [no load box ]

do the different Cab IRs radically change the tones or is it more subtle ?

probably the same place all those crappy eventide h3000's are ;) still in use. if a pod sounds good to you, use it. I can still get good useable tones from a pod 2.0.. i have an axeII, had the ultra before it, vetta before it...

Fixed :D

Dont divide by zero by profiling an Axe FX and modeling a Kemper at the same time.

Just own stuff that gives you what you want, and don't worry about resale value!

I own some of the best tube amps & also an Axe II & a Kemper. They all bring a different flavor to the table & have their own strengths & weaknesses!

I know this is far too logical for most of you.....

Most important piece I feel. Really its just EQ, so imagine how much that effects your tone.

?

Mo's meds kicking in :D

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, for whatever reason I get the same kick outta mentioning "kirk hammett" just like the character in "Team America" constantly mutters "Matt Damon". It's my default answer when the thread is heading towards a complete fubar.
