They banned me for two weeks due to political content... Left-wing pundits love to sling shit, but damn do they hate when it comes back to them! It's obvious that The Gear Page is a bastion of left-wing liberals. You can make pro-communst (Progressive) comments all day long, and no one will say a thing... If you even hint to being pro 1st Amendment or anti-abortion, first you will be attacked by the TGP leftist shills, then banned.

To be fair, the poster you responded to did not say they were afraid of the weapons themselves. The poster indicated they were "very scared of the people...".

Guns don't kill people, people kill people, remember?

And I can't believe that I am defending TGP here, but I have seen HUNDREDS of "What gun should I get?", "Look at what gun I just bought" threads in the pub there, that include discussions on home defense, home defense ammo etc. and none of them were moderated that I could see.

Have you heard Bill Maher's recent comments regarding the French terror events? He came out of that sounding more libertarian than most right wingers I see on Weasel News or related "right" media.

If you think the "right" represents freedom and liberty, you should probably quit reading Freud and start with American History.

What I'd really love to see in American political discourse is a high level debate like a presidential debate or something where the words left or leftist, right, liberal, conservative, republican or democrat get you an automatic disqualification where you are ushered off the stage and your opponent gets the rest of the time to say or do whatever the hell they want.

I bet the good debaters would get plenty of coaching on avoiding the disqualification but it would get downright comical seeing how awkward the language would get when they can't reach for their favorite labels.

Really good point. The right and left labels are a way to create an us vs. them mentality. Just like football! "My team rocks and your team sucks, 'and we is gon kill youse!'"

Most people probably agree on issues much more than is believed. And once you actually talk to someone who may have a different point of view, you actually stop, think, and consider what they are saying, as opposed to throwing up the L or R handsignal and walking away.

Anyone notice that talks about politics never sway someones already steadfast opinions ...on anything. We could debate on the color of Dr Pepper cans ; are they red or maroon... with staunch evidence either way... neither side will sway in their personal thoughts on the matter after the fact. One side will swear that the evidence is false,doctored,or fabricated. While the other side will swear that the other side is retarded for not listening to common sense...... No one wins in the left right paradigm. .. I'm a coke guy anyways.

1. He said that he is "afraid of anyone who feels they need to be armed at all times" - not that he was afraid of people.
2. Your Bill Maher comment isn't worth addressing. Bill Maher is IMO a communist pig!
3. The Sigmund Freud quote was a stab at leftists, since they hang on Freud's every word as though it came from the mouth of God! I do not subscribe to Freud, nor to Darwin's communist inspired theory of "evolution".

Why we are here.

Can any of the more experienced and well versed in the Political subjects give me their thoughts of why the Musilim named Barrack Hussein Obama has not been impeached for the over two dozen Federal crimes and/or acts of treason he has commited?

Cuba had an Embargo for 60+ years, still they have they don't have children suffering from hunger (ONU) not me, they have one of the highest ratings in medicine control, first aid, they prevent and don't only try to cure (like here, which is a damn business) Heck, last year i had to fly out of the country to be treated by real doctors because they almost killed me by malpractice in NYC , TWICE.

I have lived in 4 countries and been at least to 30.

I like to learn by watching the real world, not just hearsay or TV.
