I had one in a LP. I play mostly rock, hard rock and classic metal. I did not like them. From BKP my favorites were the Mules. On paper they seem like a hotter PAF but they are absolutely incredible pickups for LP's and for almost any style. They are really open sounding, great harmonics, and clean up wonderfully. The Rebel Yells were very mid heavy and high output in a bad way.

I have them in my R0 LP and absolutely love em!!! This is the 2nd LP that I put them in and they truly brought the guitars to life. I don't think they're mid-heavy at all. Alnico 5 magnets typically accentuate the highs and lows, and I feel that this is accurate with the RY's. Not too hot either...just right. They're more like vintage hot IMO (not modern like the BKP site says). James Lugo did that pickup shoot out a few years back, and the RY's were among his favorites (if not his his #1) in a Les Paul.

Clarity, balanced tone and killer harmonics...

I think they are very mid heavy. I wanted to love em but took them out after a week. to each his own...

I just put a RY in my PRS last night. Wow! I've probably had 15 different pickups in that thing and let me tell ya... It blew me away. It is tight and has huge string separation and clarity.

I think they may be amp dependent too. Definitely weren't mid heavy through my Fortin.

Thats' why I love em in a LP, a little hotter than I like usually at 14K but still really like em a lot. Only pickups I like better in a LP are Wizz and OX4 Paf style but they are no where close to as hot.

Bridge is like a cleaner less hot JB to my ears.

No idea on neck?

I have a Rebel Yell in the bridge of my Standard and a set of Mules in my Classic. With my 5153 and matching cab, the RYs sound killer. There is a certain thing going on in the mids that just makes me grin when I play. I can tell you that when I was running V30s with this setup, I hated the RYs. The mids of the RY and the mids in the V30 were not a pleasant sound to my ears. They seem to work great with the greenbacks. Just my observation.

The Mules are just fantastic pickups. Very fat PAF vibe with the perfect amount of bite and sustain.

You guys talked me into it...LOL. I just ordered a custom set of Mule's with aged double cream bobbins for my VOS R0. Can't wait to compare them with the RY's!!!
