Basswood sucks

So who on this forum has both the basswood import Adrian Smith Jackson and the alder US version? You can settle this once and for all :yes:

I want a one pc body les paul in the current ebony they offer with an unpainted back, but not yet committed and not prepared to pay silly (IMO) custom shop prices. Why is an Axcess (?) a buzillion dollars?

I thought the AS import model was "poplar".

My day gets always ruined when I see a guitar with a basswood body and some zoomer playing it with a grin on his face, fuck outta here.

A more fitting name to it would be if you'd just remove the B from the name.

Thanks for the factcheck and probably a reminder why I chose a strat over the AS import for a 1st bolt-on. I really want to check out the US AS, but have since learned how much I like Fender necks, but still..

Shame about OP, epic post to start this thread..lol

Ive turned down several AS imports, love the look but not very well made.

He also used a shit ton of guitars on each album. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a basswood guitar in there by WACF

As far as I can remember, I've only had one basswood guitar. An Ibanez RG560 that I bought in 1988. That was pre-internet days so apparently, I didn't know it sounded like shit. :dunno:
 
Any basswood guitar that sounds good would’ve been even better with almost any other wood :cool:
