BBB to Pass by the Look of It

Trump says an economic boom is suddenly going to happen which will cause massive deficits in his bill to magically evaporate. Meanwhile, the economy heads in the opposite direction from even the current realistic projections. The debt may well be EVEN WORSE than CBO projects now.

You guys have a zero percent success rate at predicting or even commenting on the current state of the economy.
U.S. economy shrank in 1st quarter, falling short of expectations
Consumer spending also slowed sharply in the first quarter

Well good for you.......

Sure wish the average American could say they same and afford to be well to do at the cost of others......nvm after the Socialist/Democrats devastated our country....

That is why True Americans voted for Donald Trump so he can restore the country that the Socialist/Democrats destroyed, Make America Great Again and bring America 1st into the 21st Century and beyond ^_^

You sound like a pre-programmed broken record repeating about Socialists and Woke and Make America Great Again...again! Don't you have any original thoughts at all?

I'm glad it worked out for you, but your story is atypical.

You're right, we were lucky. A lot of people weren't. I was a bit smug there.

But, I do think it's hypocritical to still be blaming lockdowns for job losses and inflation and just ignore the fact that tariffs are poised to do the same thing. Or, ignore that the BBB will potentially blow up the debt with more unnecessary tax cuts. Maybe that's not a fair critique but that's how I see it.

Tax cuts that by far mainly benefit only the very rich.

Maybe not directly but indirectly there was a lot of printed money thrown at people. We all know what happens when you give money to people that they didn't earn or deserve. Conversely, there were probably many people that wanted to go to work/go out shopping but couldn't. :dunno:

Not directly related either but it made thousands of kids dumber.

Very interesting viewpoint.
The lockdowns, which were unprecedented in recent history, has changed our society significantly. It's only been 5 years. My area has not returned to normal yet, and maybe it never will. That is something that happened in the past, we can see and quantify the results of those actions.
The tariffs you mention "are poised to"
BBB "will potentially"
But neither of those things has happened yet.
So you seem more upset about things that haven't happened yet, than about things that have already happened.
Probably because you had a better than average experience in 2020.
But it does raise the question of why some people are ready to jump off the cliff over things that haven't happened yet?
All i heard is how the world would end because of tariffs. There was supposed to be another forever war because trump bombed Iran. Those haven't happened yet either.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion and we all have different experiences which influence those opinions.

Most predictions by the left never materialize.

this first part is something a lot of people don’t consider. It was unprecedented. Pandemics don’t come around all the time and the last one that was significant to us was 100 years prior to Covid.
It’s tough to gauge how a society deals with a pandemic because there are typically big changes to societies between pandemics

Not only this but the economy is actually booming……

Inflation is holding relatively steady……

Unemployment is low…..

The ViX is below 20……

The BBB is about to pass…..

The Fed is projected to lower interest rates sooner than later as a result of all these things mentioned……

Jeez this really is the worst Recession in history….. because it’s not even a real Recession like all the carnival barkers back in April made it out to be and The President proved them all wrong :dunno:
