Found this on youtube.. smokin player (when you listen to other demos you hear his chops). Had seen that he was asked to compare both of them and he did!

No contest for me, the amp clearly differentiates itself but the pedal is good sounding if you have nothing to compare it to. A little squished and not as broad to me but most distortion pedals do that.

Can't wait to watch this after work. I'm hoping someone makes a video like this with a Runt 50

Both sounded good.

The amp is crazy noisy though. Yikes.

Sounds great....probably wouldn't be able to guess which one was a real amp if I wasn't told.....although they do sound different of course.

I like running mine on 18v. 9 volts is feels too compressed after using it on 18. IMO 18 volts brings the pedal a lot closer to the real thing than running it on 9. It feels a lot more dynamic and responsive.

Sounds like to me that noise is the kind from standing really close to the amp(any amp will do that). Mine is a pre black pcb amp and it's not that noisy.

For me I liked the amp better but both sounded great. I have the amp and I will be getting the pedal too, be like having a 4 channel be-100!

What's the pedal running through though? It sounds best through a great clean channel amp. Is he running it through the BE100 amp set clean? Are those known for their clean channel? Just curious...it makes a difference (did not like my pedal through the SLO clean channel so much but through the SB clean channel it's incred).

he needs to hit more 80's style screech harmonics.

lol because downtuned chugga chugga really shows the merit of an amp ;)

If the clean amp's treble was dialed up more it might have been a decent comparison.

They are by nature..I've now tried every one of Friedman's higher gain offerings, except the Butterslax and they all have more noise than I'd like, with the gain on a decent level. But I use a Decimator, so it wouldn't matter too much.

it definitely shows a lot more than screech boy over there. :D

Both have their place but yes, generally some actual regular riffing tells more than the doodles or dropped D.

I talked to this guy on another forum and yes...he's running the pedal through the clean channel of his 2014 BE100. I have a 2014 BE100 and the clean channel is pretty good.

"screech boy"? I thought your clip of the pedal sounded terrible...by your own standards based on your clip are you "over-compressed/fizzy shit tone boy"?

Finally got to watch it. The pedal is a bit more compressed, but it definitely holds its weight compared to the amp

I can dial my pedal to sound much closer to my BE100 than that but yes, the amp wins every time.

I'm wondering what setting the bright switch is on this amp clip. I have to have the bright switch at the brightest setting for me to get ideal cleans on the be100....what do you do with yours?

I run mine to the left which would be the mid position
