BE OD vs. BE amp..this is what we wanted

I would like to here it with his clean mid control on the amplifier turned up quite a bit… They would be much closer then…

Except for EQ, that pedal was almost identical to the amp. No one would know the difference if you didn't tell them which was which.

I can dial my pedal to sound much closer to my BE100 than that but yes, the amp wins every time.

I'm wondering what setting the bright switch is on this amp clip. I have to have the bright switch at the brightest setting for me to get ideal cleans on the be100....what do you do with yours?
I run mine to the left which would be the mid position
Thanks

I may be mistaken about the newest ones, but I didn't think the BE100 has a mid control on the clean channel(mine doesn't and it has the full clean).

he needs to hit more 80's style screech harmonics.

lol because downtuned chugga chugga really shows the merit of an amp ;)

it definitely shows a lot more than screech boy over there. :D
I'll take his video posts over yours any day !!

Hitting harmonics and vibrato bring out an amps character .
Chugga can be cool but very one dimensional !
Then you need to put that guy down .
Well until now I never said much about your clips .
You have some very cool amps and equipment !!!
Too bad you don't know how to use it !!
You are a boring mediocre player at best !!!
You're what I would call a poser !!!

Nice vid but in my opinion there are a lot of people missing the point of this pedal.

This pedal is not really for someone that can afford a Friedman amp. This pedal is also not for someone with a Diezel, ENGL, Cameron, etc. amps lined against the wall with a Ferrari in the driveway.

Just speaking for myself, I didn't expect too much out of this pedal before I bought it. I did think it would sound good but I didn't think it would even come close to capturing the tone of a BE 100 amp or any other amp. I can tell you, and a lot of owners will vouch I'm sure, that the pedal has FEEL. It has the great tone but has the feel, and that is big obviously.

This pedal will never replace amps but you just can't deny that for some guy with a little Fender combo and this pedal is going to get his money's worth.

Couldn't agree more. Feel was one of the first things I noticed. I don't think I ever experienced that before in a pedal.

I am really digging mine. I almost sent it back at first. Was playing it thru the Engl and it had a lot of overlap of tone. When I run it thru my clean channel of the recto it's a total different beast.
 Glad I kept it. Was playing it tonight. Going back and forth between the recto lead and the Friedman be. The Friedman adds a lot more thicker mids. And that's what I wanted this pedal for since day 1. Really a great piece of gear. :)
And yes the feel factor when playing it is awesome.

Ahhhhh, I didn't know that…

:) That is so insane that you can get Mesa and Marshall tones with the use of a pedal. :)

I tried recording it. But the Mesa sounds thin and the be pedal sounds dull.
Gonna have to play around with the eq little more. Super sensitive. That's a good thing when tone chasin. :D
But in the room. Yes. Killer Mesa. Then modded Marshall.
Exceeds my expectations.

I can't believe how good this pedals sounds with clean amps. The cleaner the better. Hearing it played thru a CARR 2x12 combo was mind blowing.

Good grief dude is triggered!

Yeah Robin Leach is in my Ferrari over here passing the grey poupon.
The pedal is for anyone who is willing to lay down the cash for it and that includes people like me who would like something that can sort of cop my main amp when I cannot bring a big setup with me....Dave wants to sell products, more power to him! He wasn't trying to be a social justice warrior but no doubt wants to make the friedman sound accessible to everyone.

Still uses the same power stage so in essence he's comparing Preamps. I would expect them to sound close.

Now I am waiting on the video of somebody boosting the BE with the BE pedal.

I like running mine on 18v. 9 volts is feels too compressed after using it on 18. IMO 18 volts brings the pedal a lot closer to the real thing than running it on 9. It feels a lot more dynamic and responsive.

I prefer running mine at 9 volts. 18 seems colder to me.

I'd like to hear the BE head compared to the BE-OD pedal thru a NMV Marshall

I'd like to hear the BE-OD in the clean chanel of a Recto! Someone can do it?

I did this same test yesterday on my 2015 BE-100. While i could not get the pedal to sound exactly like my BE-Channel, it certainly held it's own. I feel like i got closer than the vid in the original post.

The pedal on the clean channel is way more compressed and lacks some resonance compared to the BE channel. It also doesn't clean up nearly as well as the BE channel with your volume knob, but does a decent job.

That said, I now have a great solution for anytime i need to use a backlined rig. The pedal kicks ass and is very Friedman sounding.
