Been on a strat kick as of late… so of course I was browsing Reverb and stumbled on this CS Fender. Itshowed up a couple weeks ago…. I did end up swapping the bridge pickup to a Suhr Aldrich the night before a gig.

I absolutely adore the neck on this guitar - 12” radius, 6100 frets, oil finish, so not your typical strat. And it’s their 60s oval neck so it’s a nice middle ground. Singles are Texas Specials I believe.

Waiting for the honeymoon period to be over… but it’s making me think that maybe I’m more a Strat than an LP guy. I dunno…. I guess we will see.

That neck looks great. Enjoy it in good health! How do you like the humbucker?

Sick!

I would swap to all black trim like I did to my MIM. I want to relic mine so bad but I'm afraid I'd fuck it up. What was the original CS Humbucker? Fender I'm assuming. And yeah, that neck is serious business.

that looks like toy in your hands :)
im been into roasted necks lately.

It was specced with a BKP VHII, which sounded ok, but I tend to prefer a little more juice on a trem equipped guitar, even if I'm not using the trem.

Man, roasted and oiled is the way I think. It feels so good.

I have another parts guitar with a roasted maple neck on it too. The only issue is if you have black side dots, they tend to disappear completely under stage lights. I may have them drilled out and replaced with luminlay or something similar down the road.

I just got an used Ultra II tele with a semi roasted neck. Came factory with the luminlays
i just found out why TY :)

Looks great. I put an Aldrich in one of my guitars recently & wish I’d done it years ago.

Congrats on a beautiful Strat! Not unlike the neck on my CS Tele. LOVE that guitar. Wasn't looking for it when I found it, and glad I did.
