Best 1x12" tube combo for gigging? (A la VH/ ACDC-type OD)

Another vote for the DSL40C. Cheap, versatile, and sounds decent enough - even without a speaker swap.

Another vote for Friedman Smallbox (or Dirty Shirley).

Or a Splawn Super Sport.

Holy shit when did THAT happen ??? Info please...start a new thread if you must...
Not trying to derail, but what he said. That looks great! How did I miss this??

Back to the regularly scheduled topic :D

And to try and be somewhat helpful, if you can find a Hughes and Kettner Edition Tube 20th Anniversary, they sound phenomenal. A local player has one with a modest pedal board and it slays. He's been gigging with that setup for years...

It's a recent development. Bottle Rocket 50 watt 1x12 combo with an 8 ohm G12H-75 Creamback. The features are identical to the head because it is the same exact chassis as the head. Loop is series/parallel switchable. The loop is footswitchable on/off and there is a footswitchable solo master with it's own 3-way saturation switch. Comes with heavy duty footswitch. I've built two so far. I can't believe how good this amp sounds in a 1x12 combo - very excited about this one! Price being worked out as we speak...

Guitar > Boss TU3 > TS,SD1,BD2, whatever OD of choice > DSL40c. Delay/verb in the FX loop. Done.

and turn it up! They sound great with the stock speaker when it's loud. Even the DSL comes alive after the master is past 3.

I appreciate the enthusiasm gents, but what would you guys like to "follow along" on? I've already built and tested two of these - they sound awesome and are ready to go and have all the features of the original Bottle Rocket head. The only thing being determined now is price...

"Follow along" may not have been the best choice of words. My bad...

I was just thinking that a separate thread that lists the details, includes the photos from above (maybe more) and any other pertinent information (price, when available) would be a good future reference source...
