Best concert I ever attended. Mindcrime!

Seeing them open for Metallica on that tour was my first and only time seeing them live and looking back now (at the time I was actually glad), I wish I could have seen the entire set. Houston had iced-over that night so it took a little longer getting to the Coliseum but then after we parked, we noticed there were a few hundred people in line outside waiting to get in as HPD was patting everyone down.

Everyone got really pissed when they heard Queensryche start and a near riot started and would have progressed into one if the barricades didn't give - by the time we found our seats, their set was about halfway over.

That's one show I'd love to relive, not just because Metallica was so fucking on and awesome that night (the entire floor became a mosh pit by the encores - chairs ripped from the floor and in several piles with one huge pile in the middle people were fucking dancing on...just wild), but to be able to take the whole Queensryche set in.
Metallica played like 4 separate encores at my show...it was insane. They played for like 2 hours plus...it was amazing. Kind of ruined my expectations of concerts....as most could not touch that one. Still.

Saw them in Detroit play Mindcrime start to finish. Probably around '88 or '89. Suicidal Tendencies opened for them.

Yes, I am 100 years old. Or at least that's how I feel this morning.

Damn, I saw them in Detroit playing mind crime start to finish. I have a dirtbike habit like you. I never saw suicidal tendencies and that seems like a match made in dysfunction!

(Trying to remember who opened for Queensrÿche at the palace)

Totally agree.........it was a great show. I seen them in 1987 and 1988 on the Mindcrime tour and it was a great show in their prime. I also seen them in 2005 or 2006 and they were still very good live.:2thumbsup::2thumbsup::2thumbsup::2thumbsup:

I probably saw you at that show.
I just came inside. I was in the shop and I fired up the Husky TE300. Can't wait to rip some woods. Going to be a while longer though.

Seen them too many times to count. My Wife has one of the largest Queensryche collections I've ever seen! Huge.
She has the Live In Tokiyo vhs and its killer I think 1984?

A little story to tell....... They played my small town in the late 80s at a small club. The next day I went to visit my guitar teacher. Who's band opened for Queensryche that night.
He told me he was drunk and stole Geoff Tate's leather jacket! The one he wore in the video for EYES OF A STRANGER!
He shows me the jacket and it has all kinds of pendants from around the world. I tried it on and it swallowed me.
Anyway he claimed that he got jackets stolen from him in the past which didn't make any sense to me.
I hate thieves and that is what he was.

Years later met him at a local pawn shop. He said he was looking for his guitars because someone had stolen them!
So it came back on him ,lol

Here's the video with the jacket

Thanks for sharing. Sounds great. I had listened so much to my OM tape that I had I to buy another one.

Cool to see the crowd enjoying the show and no freakin' phone filming instead of living the moment.

Got to see them on The Warning, I thought they were amazing, then saw them on Rage for Order and it was at another level. They were so tight on that tour it raised the bar by a mile. When Mindcrime came, we followed them on tour for 4 shows and every show was incredible. It was a special time for us,
we did a bunch of their songs back then and watching them do them perfectly night after night was really inspiring. Degarmo was not only a fantastic guitar player, he was probably the best backup vocalist in heavy music period.
Great times 👍

Lucky ass mother fucker, that’s my dream concert I’d love to see

The wife and I will be seeing them with Todd for the 6th time next weekend. He absolutely nails it. Then seeing Geoff less than 2 weeks later. Been a long time since we’ve seen Geoff but we are looking forward to it. Will report back after the Geoff show.

Saw this in Greensboro. Best rock concert I ever saw. I was a HUUUUGE QueensRyche fan then.

Checked out after Promised Land. La Torre is cool but I'm out.
I also saw the Greensboro show (was living in Raleigh at the time). Definitely one of the best shows I've seen.
