Best zakk Ozzy album poll

wasn't Zakks fault... it was the producer. Zakk has said that when he finished recording and listened to the mixes it was crushing like No More Tears. But when he heard the final master he was like "what the fuck happened??" He said it sounded like a completely different record

That’s what I meant .zakk was in control like Randy and Jake and Tony before him . Ozzmosis is when he became ozzs side guy instead of a co writer and riff man

IIRC Ozzmosis was a mish-mash of three different unfinished projects. There was the No More Tears sequel with Zakk, the Steve Vai project and then another album with a bunch of outside writers. The final album pulled stuff from all of those writing sessions.

In hindsight Ozzmosis was definitely the turning point. First six solo albums were band efforts. Down to Earth was all outside writers. Zakk wrote on Black Rain but Black Rain and Scream are defined much more by Kevin Churko than Zakk or Gus G. Same with the Andrew Watt albums. Ozzmosis stradles both eras.

this thread has lead me back to listening to Ozzmosis ... fuck it is a great album isn't it !?!!!!!! .. I instantly went back to the day I got it on release day. I got drunk and tried to play along on day one hahahahaha ... my flat mates/room mates didn't like the result hahahaha

That’s awesome. Reminds me of freezing in -7 degree weather to be first in line for that tour . Man all the non ballads on Down to Earth . Been listening a lot .

Heavier songs are pretty cool on Down to Earth . Way better than I remember
