Just wanted to let you guys know I got my BFG fully modified 2003 three channel Mesa Dual Rectifier. It is unbelievable! Sounds huge, thick, smooth, throaty, fat, chunky, articulate, punchy. man, this is the best Dual Rectifier I have ever played. This is now a permanent member of my amp collection!
It is definitely heavier than my 2010 Dual Rectifier so I wonder if this 2003 model has better components than the new Dual Rectiifers because this is much heavier than my 2010.

Holy cow, the raw channel has more gain and can go from classic rock to lightewr metal! WOW! Vintage mode is fat, thick Marshall's best meets Mesa's best! Modern is clearer than ever, no fizz at all! Plus, tones are just as good at bedroom levels! WOW!

I am interested in giving Brian at BFG some business next year for a Marshall DSL or TSL mod! Anyone had Brian mod their Marshall DSL or TSL? If it is that good, I will forget about buying a Splawn and instead have Brian do a DSL mod! :)

I played that amp and it does sound just insane!! Brian is the best, not only at modding amps but a great guy that cares and wants to make sure you're happy!!!!!! Congrats on the amp!!

Brian is without a doubt....One of the best there is when it comes to customer satisfaction!!!

Just got a chance to get a mint Splawn Quickrod for $1100 so I think I am jumping!!! :)

Right now, this BFG Dual Rectifier is blowing me away. Brian is a genious. If any of you have a chance to get an amp modded by BFG, go for it!

I have a BFG modded JCA22H and it sounds awesome. Very versatile. Great cleans too.

Yea, he's satisfied me once or twice.

He's a great dude and knows his shit about tone. I'm still anxiously waiting to hear the new BFG Destroyer.

I'm happy that I can say Brian is a friend of mine. I met him at an amp show here in Portland and listened to several of his amp's, I talked to him that day and quite a few more times on the phone. After all the conversations we had I knew he was the real deal. He's done a few amps for me, he always makes sure that any customer is happy and he'll do anything to achieve that. I don't get anything for bragging about him, and I wouldn't want anything but to see him to suceed with his BFG Amplification. SUPER SUPER guy and and some one you can trust!!

Brian is awesome... I have a jet city he modded and it the most killer low wattage amp out there. I have put it up against the Mesa mini and the 5153 mini and it killed them both. The dudes faces where like holy shit. I am still looking for the right donor amp to send his way... He is one of the nicest dudes on the planet and customer service is off the charts...

I don't have a DSL or TSL but Brian did mod my JCM 50 watt head and made it into a monster. Tons of gain with clarity. Brian does excellent work and genuinely cares about his product. He even sent all the parts back to switch it back to stock. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. I'll be sending him another hopefully next year.

Cool. Didn't you have another modded recto?

Stumbled upon this BFG modded Metro clip recently. (Soldano crunch circuit inspired) Sounds mighty tasty!

From everything I've heard, Brian's work sounds amazing! I have a '78 Super Bass that I'm dying to send to him. (In due time)

Wow, I usually don't care much for Soldano voicing all that much but this amp still sounds very Marshall like but has a nice thick sustain to it. I guess extra preamp tube was added?? I might send an amp Brian's way.

I truly appreciate all the kind words and am proud of the work I do for you guys. I'm going to be taking the Destroyer out for a spin right after the holidays and will have some clips and more info on it. The 50 watt amp in that clip has no extra tubes and is a mix of a Marshall and Soldano. It's a very nice and thick tone that can cover a bunch of genres.

I hope everyone has a great holiday and I will be posting some new clips in the upcoming months of some new mods that are very cool...more Metal inspired as well as some other more vintage ones. I'm also working on a website that will have some good tech info that I hope is helpful.

Thanks,

Brian

Me three!!!

I heard Jerry's (Jerome Allen) BFG modded JCM 800 1X12 combo and this thing sounded just as good or better than all of the amps up there, which included the Cameron Atomica, Cameron CCV, Soldano SLO, and Bogner XTC 101B. Of course Jerry's playing could have something to do with it since he is a monster player!!!

lol....Rob, you are far too kind to me and an EXCELLENT player, yourself. You're right on about that BFG modded Marshall. I feel this need to go and buy another Marshall just so Brian (BFG) can mod it for me. He's a very cool guy who nailed EXACTLY what I wanted (but didn't really think was possible) out of the amp. I highly recommend his work. I'm anxious to hear this new amp he's designing and building. I'm sure it will be an absolute monster.

Any clips of this 1 X 12? A few have been popping up on CL and have me interested in a modded grab & go combo. I already have a 1 X 12 with EL84's that's my grab & go now, but would like something with bigger tubes.
