Loved Don Dokken's up from the ashes. The sound on When Love Finds a Fool is my favorite.

So guys, I finally found the name of the guitars Don & Billy were playing! It says Music Works (especially Jim, Ken, Alex and Hank) as well as Giebitz Guitars in the UFTA credits!
GHS strings, Jose Marshalls, PRS pickups and Groove Tubes are mentioned too.
I hope that solves this mystery ;)

Yess, you’re right! I think he switched sometime in the mid 90’s and he’s using ‘em with Europe till this day!

hey yall! I’m new to this forum and I was someone who was super curious to ask this before i became a member. I made an account so I ban reply to what I came across with… so after looking at a picture that someone sent here in this thread, I went to look at my up from the ashes vinyl that I own, and similarly it does have the information that Billy White used “Music works” and “Giebitz” guitars… I zoomed in on a black-and-white picture of him with that black super strat with the reverse headstock and if you zoom in you could almost kind of tell it says music works. I’m positive of it. Underneath I have a picture of what the guitar looks like, but in a standard headstock form.

Also.. I saw someone selling a late 80s “music works” guitar on reverb. (It’s a sold listing but it provided very interesting information). I will provide a link to that sold listing but what was on the description is what caught my eye very informative and very positive that Billy whites guitar has to be a music work.

Also, I found out that the person who makes music works guitars is a Luther and has a guitar shop in Lawndale, California.
