Bogner 2X12 - Back Panel Stuck

I need some help. I want to replace the speakers in my Bogner 2X12 cabinet but I can't remove the back panel - it's stuck. Is there some kind of trick to removing the back panel? Seems pretty simple: remove screws holding the panel and then take the panel off. But I can't get it off. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Chainsaw?? HAHA, I usually lay the cab on its face, remove the input jack, I know its small on those, but you should be able to get a couple of fingers in there and pull up and off, some of those suckers are really a tight fit and some use some sort of two sided tape to seal. Good Luck!
 
Good tip. Thanks man. I hadn't thought about removing the input jack plate. I'll give it a shot. If it doesn't work...chainsaw it is. :D
 
My 212 boogie cab gave me the same trouble. I realized I was babying it a little so I got pissed and shoved a butter knife in there and pried it open:)
 
Take a putty knife and go around the edges and just wiggle it, that will loosen it up and removing the jack will help after you loosen it.
 
What speakers are you putting in?? I changed the ones in my Bogner 2x12 as well, had chinese V30s in there, I am really starting to dislike V30s.

5-7" regular and some simple prying will do the trick. You WANT it that tight anyways.
 
If you simply hit it almost dead center nice and hard, not enough to break it or your hand, the flex in the backer board will cause the edges to pop up.
I do this with a few of my well built cabinets, and it works like a charm. :thumbsup:
 
Well, I was waiting for the smart ass comments and the rig talk forum did not disappoint. You guys crack me up. Thanks again for the suggestions guys. I took the jack plate off and was able to get the back panel off the cabinet.

Gibson08 - I'm putting in some greenbacks. I have a mix of V30/CL80 in there now. A good combination in my opinion but I haven't experimented much with speakers in the past so my journey begins. Amp is a Soldano SLO in case you're interested.
