Bogner or Marshall cab?

The ‘magic’ of Bogner cabs is in glued front baffles they use. I put Scumbacks in mine, J75 on top, H75 bottom and its just amazing. I will try Redback on bottom for little more ‘thunder’

Thanka for the info.
I will say that my Splawn and Stone Age sound equally as good, yet different.

Lots of guys get stellar tones from the H-75, but I couldn't bond with it. I switched to the Redbacks and never looked back.

In my Stone Age 212C, I tried two K100s which was great. I had two China V30s in my Bogner 212 and it sounded awesome.

I then moved one K100 to the Bogner with one V30 and it's huge, right and throaty. Beautiful sounding.

I have no problem with China speakers. I had them in my Splawn too. Killer sound.

I then went with a Redback/H75 in my Stone Agw and I didn't like the H75 (personal preference). I then tried Redback/K100 and it was good but the best is two Redbacks. Man, it sounds killer. I have Redbacks/UK V30s in my straight front Splawn.

Any of you have experience with USA built Randall R412 cabs?

Interesting you say that.
My tech says that Marshall cabs are very lively. Way better than Mesa he says.
Problem I run into is that every time I find a used Marshall, there is an issue.
This time I found an excellent shape JCM900 1960A but the guy never responds to offers or messages, so what's the point?

I also find straight cabs have more punch and are tighter than slant top.
But, I've never owned a slant top, so my experience is not great on them.

On the other hand, my Bogner 212OS sounds incredible regardless of speakers. Caster are rock solid, and the best I've had next to Stone Age.

Talked to my buddy in LA who is a studio musician and says his Bogner 212OS, is possibly the best sounding cab he's owned.

I have to say, that cab just kills it no matter I put in it.

Sounds plenty woody and organic to me. Nice thump or thunk.

i have no doubts your tech says the Marshalls are more lively either… because they definitely are in my opinion.

Again, I own all 3( Uber cab, Mesa OS, Marshall 1960BV and others) and I very much agree with this personally as well. Why? Because the Mesa’s are just overbuilt, and maybe TOO much at times. Again, I love my Mesa don’t get me wrong, it gets tons and tons of use. But the Mesa specifically, just doesn’t breath like a good Marshall cab does. The mesas are so locked up and tight, that they can sound and feel kind of stiff and dead compared to something like a Marshall cab. The Marshalls always have more low end to me, and I truly feel that’s the reason: the Marshalls are not built to be so Incredibly tight and stiff: they flex and have give, thus allowing low end to bloom and build more, which can sound phenomenal.

Back in the day I remember reading that Avatar made the Bogner cabs. I could be wrong.

I have both Bogner and a ‘72 Marshall 1960B with the same speakers. I removed the batting in the Bogner and they sound very similar
Is it a hassle to remove the batting. Can it be reinstalled?

Interesting.
My tech who I really trust, did try my Bogner 212 and he said it breathes and reminds him of the bigness of his Marshalls.

I could also order a stagecraft as they are cheaper and very resonant.

The only other interesting one I found is a Randall R412 US made.

And you find the slant tops also have lots of lows?
I will say my bandmate just got a 2016, Asian Marshall 1960a and it sounds great. Cheap too....
I found a used 2013 mint for $500. I also found that JCM900 for $500 but the guy never responds to messages. It's a 1960a too.

***I could get the Bogner 412st this week if I like, for $700.

I will say that my Bogner 212 sounds massive and 3-D.

Man, I can't decide. :(
Wish I could play them side by side in the same room. Otherwise, it's a guess.

Are the Asian Marshall's as good as older 900s?

There is a $500 2013 Marshall not far from me. And this guy is even closer but never responds. I could always just send an offer and see...

Get the Bogner.

If it was a late '60s to early '70s Marshall cab, different situation.
I am getting it Tuesday. $700 with English V30/H30.

I am not getting the Marshalls. I found a newer 2013 Marshall and an older 900.

I will go Bogner.

Going to have to sell my Lynchbacks to help fund this purchase. Lol.

Well, one of things I would call snider is..... If T75's are not going to be the speakers you're going be after... Add the cost of replacement speakers. The Bogner should be loaded with V30's already. They are very well made. Again, I prefer them to any Marshall cab I've had. Not to say I've had the best Marshall cabs.

Yes I know.
I have apeakers in my music room if I want but yes, I would not keep T75s. But... I am more concerned with the better cab and sounding cab, not worried about speakers. I'd happily spend for speakers if it means the Marshall is the better can overall.

That said, I'm getting the Bogner this week. It has V30/H30.

The guy with the Bogner has been too busy to meet. So, I've been having second thoughts.

It's still $700 I'd need to spend..

Current line up is the following:
Splawn straight 412 - V30/Redback
Stone Age 212 - Redbacks
Bogner 212 - V30/K100

I could get that Randall US R412 cab above that I know is as good as Marshall and Mesa and then I could wait on speakers till I sell my Lynchbacks.
I could always get WGS Vet30/ET65 which I like. Had those in my Bogner 212 and loved them.

In the end, cabs take up room and are expensive for aomw like the Bogner or a Splawn.

If i can get this Marshall JCM900 1960A foR $400-450, I can alwaya replace spwakera down the road or blend the UK T-75s. Egnater does T-75/K-100.

Out of all the 4x12's I've owned, Marshall, Mesa, and Bogner are my top 3 picks. I got rid of everything else, I still own Bogner, and Mesa. I did get rid of my marshal too, however wish I still had it.

One caveat on the bogners, I remove the batting because personally I do not like it.
