Well... you definitely know what you like :D I think having *one* passive pickup guitar like a tele or something would be cool though, the shiva has all sorts of tones in it that would compliment that IMO (as well as the metal stuff of course ;))

I don't doubt you Rich, YOU are the boost with your guitars and/or a combination of other factors in the signal chain to get it to youtube.

Your Twin Jet clips had the same effect compared to in the room experience with one (just imo).

I don't see that as a negative I like your clips.

the thing is i dont like people thinking im a trickster and would do something like make lies about something stupid like this. here is the other video

I think the only people that are thinking you had a boost are unfamiliar with either EMGs/the Shiva/or IMO, maple guitars which have a brighter sound and tighter lows to start with. I'd love to try that guitar through my xtc classic, I'm sure it'd rip

yea maple is the perfect wood for metal. it has a certain "weight" behind the tone thats just so aggressive and brutal. its a very toneful wood, and the emgs paired up with that = an insane metal machine

the chord is tucked behind the cab because its a 20ft mogami and i keep it back there to keep it neat and not all over the place where im tripping over it

a new vid is on the way to prove the amp was not boosted
This is getting sad... and a bit offensive.

Dude, your clip rocked as is - if peeps don't believe that this is a naked clip, fuck 'em. I'll just say thanks for posting a killer clip

Mo

i dont care at all, i just dont want people to be misleaded by comments from others.

If you just listen to your other clips you can clearly hear a signature sound that is coming from your hands and guitar.
Have you plugged the Shiva into the Bogner OS? I'm pretty sure it would be nut busting awesome

I've played a few Shiva's and none of them sounded like that

No shit....

Not sure what's going on with that one :D

Some of the comments in the thread are hilarious. Practice and skill = tone.

As always, great vid and playing man.

thanks dude

i did try it with the 2x12 and it sounds awesome. the vintage 30s complement the amp alot better i think. the highs have a nice sparkle to them and the midrange is a little warmer, it also tightens up the low end a bit. the combo speaker sounds great too though, it seems like you need to give it some volume to get it moving. it kinda sounds flat at lower volumes where the vintage 30 is a little more sensative and sounds a little more alive at bedroom volumes

i love that 2x12, its deff my favorite cabinet. i like it better than most of the 4x12s out there

Nice clip  Wood alone can make a huge dif in tone. My G&L (alder body, maple neck, ebony board) is so snappy and clear sounding with that wood combo. It's punchy as hell and you'd be surprised at how different it sounds than my mahogany bodied/rosewood board axes with the same pups even!

If I threw some EMGs in that guitar it would rip my face off, even through a medium gain amp.

Well...maybe you're telling the truth about the signal chain but that is definitely NOT a real Brooklyn accent!

  oo yea and what would you know you mook.

:D

This just goes to show how far a strong right hand hand and pick attack can go. A great player will sound good through just about anything. Big Rich could make a Blue Voodoo sound like a Deizel. Well...yeah...he could. :D

When I was 15 those blue voodoos we're just as good as a diesel. I remember wanting one because cannibal corpse used to use them and I loved that band and their tone at the time lol

I don't know what I was thinking lol
