Dime Sound?

EWWWW

Randall Warhead

+1 Eww.

Neither of these amps should produce such a horrible tone.

Buy that rev.2 in the classifieds its a beast

You've been tire kicking the last week... said 'let's deal' to me at least twice... You're probably saying the same to some other member as well. Ive been more than patient and generous with answering all your questions... even the repeated, repeated ones.

Side note.. who the hell would want Dimebag's tone?? Talent yes, tone NO.

Cory

Agreed with others IF your holy grail tone is Dime

Look at Randall RG ,warhead ,Krank Krankenstein or the sig Dime amp any of those will get you pretty much there

Best "Dime" sound that I have gotten was actually out of an original series Marshall Valvestate head. Not really my thing, but absolutely crushed for that Tommy Victor / Dime style "cold-razor" sound. Both the Uber and Diezel are too organic and round for the immediate purpose that you described. Just my opinion.

You don't have to spend near that much money to get a Dime tone.

Dime tone is a Randall RG100ES with the mids scooped out and replaced with a parametric EQ. Solid state, dude. You don't need a $2,000 tube amp to get that sound....look for a Marshall 8100 or a Madison Prophecy and an EQ.

That's rough if you bothered Cory! I felt like I bugged him to tears deciding between his Dmoll and a VH4. He was extremely cordial.

and for the record I love the Dimebag sound, but want something that can get me there and do a WHOLE LOT MORE.

Just tugging your ropes a little. I would say if you want a Diezel to cover some of that tone for you, plus a whole range, grab the D-Moll. With the mid-cut, you can totally remove the 400kHz mids and scoop this fucker like peanut butter. It should do the trick to cover some Dime.

With the D-Moll, the switchable mid-cut feature actually gives you 6 distinct tone possibilities within the same gain/volume settings.

if you want aggression get Uberschall.
versatility get Dmoll

(assuming these are your only choices - FWIW, that DMoll Cory has for $2700 is best deal you're gonna find on that amp as these are hard to find)

Maybe throw in a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates too - seems you guys had a bit of a rough patch these last couple days.

Good luck with the purchase!
