Even though my GB's are in my Marshall AX and the V30's are in the Bogner, I can hear the difference in the cabs themselves. I know the GB's will sound great in the Bogner. Haha you know what?? Changing speakers bores the shit out of me.. i hate unloading them from one cab/desoldering.. then having to do it all over again.. I actually got my dad to re-wire my cab last time, because he loves working on stuff and i couldnt be bothered
Id love to try G12H30's sometime in this cab.. its just expensive buying and swapping speakers.. especially when you dont know wether you'l like em or not!

what year did the change in the mids and gain take place, i had a 2005 xtc and it was nice but i played a 2007 a few weeks ago that really blew me away, is this change a 2007 thing or 2006. i might have to get another xtc.

True, you really take a chance with speakers, but, I guess sometimes you can be pleasantly surprised, as IMO, speakers are allmost half your tone. I think I might do 2 V30's/2 H30's in my straight, and put the GB's in my slant. I completely agree that speakers are atleast 50% of your tone. I learned that fact from Ralph years ago, when i never knew much about speakers... When i changed speakers like he had recommended, instantly i loved the tone!!!
2 V30's/ 2 H30's could sound very nice in that cab!!!

Im startin to think i would probably really dig the XTC 101B.. i haven't played one before, but the clips i heard from J.B have always sounded killer!
Im used to playing a Cameron modded Marshall, and a Boogie MKIII so.. I wonder if the XTC has any similarities to either of those two amps?
