There's definintely a mindset out there among some that if you have to boost an amp to get your sound/tone than the amp/design is flawed somehow.

If that's the case then EJ, SRV, Blackmore, Clapton, Yngwie, Vai, Satch, Beck, etc..........are all doing it wrong.
