I’m hoping someone might be able to help with a really high noise floor when using my Boss GT1000 CORE in 4CM with my amp, specifically on higher gain sounds. To be clear, the issue I’m experiencing is noise, not hum that can sometimes occur when running 4CM. I did try the ground lift options anyway to no avail and I have tried the suggested input stage meter adjustments already.
I have isolated the issue to be the portion of the signal before the amp input. When I deactivate Loop 1, which is what I’m utilizing for 4CM in my case, and only use the GT in the loop of my amp for post gain effects, the noise is gone. As soon as I introduce the GT before the amp’s preamp however, the noise returns. I tried Loop 2 on the GT for the heck of it with the same results.
Here are a couple of clips to help demonstrate. One is in the amp’s effects loop only (minimal/acceptable noise). In the other clip, I have the GT1000 in 4CM and toggle the loop on/off that places part of the signal before the input of my amp: https://on.soundcloud.com/9Q5Yc
I appreciate any pointers!
