I've got a Charvel Custom Shop with black Floyd fine tuners, but think it would look sharper with natural brass. Anybody know where I can find a set? The black seems to be some kind of plating. Maybe it can be removed, but I think it would be simpler to pick up brass replacements. Thanks.

You can either sand through the black plating on the brass fine tuners on the one you have, or buy the Floyd Rose 1984 model that comes with them plain brass to begin with. I think I can get you a 1984 model if you want.

I have the 84 installed in the slime and getting ready to ebay all the black parts from the slime, the 1984 is the shit Curt. Great unit.

What tuners are you using to drop in the USA models? I have to call for some more switch tips and trees, I cannot get enough of the brass.

The only choice you really have without making new holes is the gold Grovers. I found a used set on ebay that were missing most of the gold and they looked perfect on my relic build.

Thanks for the replies. BTW Curt, this is for the Seasick Green CS you posted yesterday in one of the Charvel threads. Fantastic guitar!

Mechanical stripping of the black ones seems like a drag and might not look very good. I'd prefer to live better through chemistry if there's a suitable option. Not sure my cosmetic preference rises to the level of a full replacement with a 1984.

The plain brass fine tuners from Floyd seem to be out of stock every time I look, but it might just be bad timing.

Which big brass block will fit well on this guitar? Looks like the 42mm would be a very tight squeeze. Also, given the way the neck is set the trem floats. Not a problem as that's my preference, but from time to time I want to install a D-Tuna. If so, is there any consensus on preferred methods of blocking?

Finally, what other brass is available? The switch tip would be cool as I think the current one looks a but out of place.

Thanks again.
