Brazilian this, brazilian that..................blindfolded and $1000 of their money on the table how many could play a guitar and state.........." as yes this is brazilian rosewood, I can tell by the feel through my calloused tips and that overtone that only a thin small piece of wood brings to the table...."

Sorry but I dont buy it, yeah for the main body of the guitar but the fretboard? nope.

had Brazillion on the Baker. I couldn't tell any tonal pluses or feel pluses.

I much prefer the Ebony fingerboards on my Deans and my ALL RW neck on my TA.

I perfer Ebony as well, it is slicker to the touch for me and has a snap rosewood does not have.

Braz has a waxy feel to it. It also smells different.

That reminds me that I need to clean one of the GMW's necks, man does it stink with 4 years of play time on it

+1

I've owned both an IRW Mccarty and BRW Singlecut at the same time. Very time I opened up the SC case, the smell blasted me in the face. The BRW felt better, but they were pretty close tonally...

Just re-strung the 1527 last night

Too many things going on at home including 3 soccer games this weekend for Yngwie in NYC

Tonally I can't tell but I like the feel of Brazillian better. It's waxier and more slippery.

Plugged in probably not, but acoustically Brazilian RW is a slap in face difference compared to Indian RW everytime I've played a guitar with it. I even have one

Is the grain tighter on the brw? I know that Ebony is way more slippery due to the tighter grain.

I dont pay $$$$$$$ for smell :D

Bang on. Im not sure what the tonal differences are, my RW and BRW axes are completely different. A long time ago I swore id never buy another RW board guitar again, but BRW is fair game.

But its a wonderous smell!

A friend of mine has an LP that smells like a dead cat. I have no idea how that can happen?

Scott, by being snappy, do you mean a little like a maple ?

I did see a rosewood neck at Suhr. It had 2 different colors. It was brown with a wave of a reddish part going through it. Maybe it was not rosewood, but it looked cool. How about Pau Ferro, is that a tight grain aswell ?

Not sure about Brazilian specifically, but when I first started playing I HAD to have a maple board and hated rosewood with a passion.

Now after 24 years I don't mind rosewood, still don't like it on Fenders though.

All rosewood neck. Fatterst - toned TA I ever owned

I played Daneyo's rosewood TA and it was great.

My PRS's both had solid rosewood necks as well (the Mccarty was solid IRW and the SC was solid BRW).

Yeah, imo the ebony just adds more snap and spank then normal rosewood but different than maple. I have very little experience with Pao Ferro.

I will but the entire neck shaping the tone, not sure if it makes a difference where the rw came from.

No offense taken but I have played several brw LPs ;)

So you will place the $1000 down with 4 different guitars on the table?

The Brazilian Rosewood does have a slick feel to it and it sure does look cool. Not so sure if there's any tonal advantage. But like any exotic wood, you're going to pay more for it.

Would you say the BRW has a better look to it ?
