Just saw a video were Alex Skolnick said Peavy makes Budda amps. I know it shouldn't matter who makes the amp, what matters is how it sounds. But I feel like if I'm buying a boutique amp it should be made by a small number of people who are extremely passionate about creating something special. I feel like if Peavy is behind Budda, they figured they could cash in on the boutique market. I'm not saying Budda's aren't worth the money, or they're inferior in any way. For all I know they're built in small numbers by only a select group under extreme scrutiny. But with big companies being what they are bottom line usually wins out over passion. I'm completely ignorant about Budda amps, always thought they were a small company trying to make a name. Anyone know if Peavy is behind Budda?

They bought them a while ago. There only a few company's that own just about everything.

yes, peavey owns buddha.

honestly, i was quite shocked to hear it as well. it did explain why such a "small" company is in GC and MF, though.

nothing about Budda, but Peavy is underated imo. they have put out some decent products at times.

This wasn't a shot at Peavy at all. But if I found out Diezel's were being built by Marshall I'd be pretty upset.

peavey was awsome, until hartley's wife died. then he just sold most of the company to overseas import companies. nowdays the quality from everything like a cap and potentiometer to the construction and PCB board material are just terrible. it works, but the tone of each peavey differs so much its unruling.

you may be right, I had some peavy amps, some of my first amps and they were great, and the classic series is pretty sweet too.

Yes Peavey does own Budda. But Budda is not made by Peavey. My band Has a Peavey endoursement, and I learned this from the Peavey East AR rep. **********. They also own Trace Elliott.
