CABM Speaker Compression

Hi

I heard in a demo video that the new H&K amp have a built-in Redbox. This new Redbox has a simulated analog speaker compression. After a decent amount of load, a speaker will also compress like a saturated power amp. Will such a great speaker simulation like the Cabm also offer a speaker compression? Maybe going even further to offer the sound of an completely overload or torn speaker.

Kind regards
George

No, not really. Speaker distortion is something very specific and does not sound like a transistor or a tube distorting.

We have no plan for CAB M to do that, but that's an option you have in Torpedo Studio and the Wall of Sound plugin. It takes a lot of CPU power to model it, maybe one day we'll be able to get it to fit in the CAB DSP, who knows? ;)

Thanks for the info. It's fun and challenging to replicate the original guitar sounds of old classic rock songs for me at home. Several recordings used totally overload guitar speakers or they made holes and cuts into the speakers for a special sound. Good to know, that the Wall of sound is capable to simulate at least speaker disortion. Next step is to integrate it into CABM, please. :D

Is there any demo video out there that shows the function "Overload: natural speaker distortion control" in Wall of sound?
