sah5150,If you played a mod 5 amp would it have the van halen vibe,if kirk wanted the van halen sound would he play a mesa to achieve it or a mod5,which would he use,think know sah5150.As for others doing the mod 5 vs Mark,Mark's do sound different if that was case that they all sound the same I would have had someone local perform that mod.Try again.....

Some tribute bands make a ton of money in their spare time. If you need extra cash, like the tunes and can pull it off, it's an option, your obvious artistic integrity aside...

They sound pretty similar to me in the few parts of the video I skipped around to. What setting did you have the Cameron diode clipping rear knob on?

For the Marsha I also had the "Sat" switch on.

I own a Marsha and to have it set to HBE and Sat on is an awefull amount of gain. Not sure EVH ever used this much gain. Where was the pre set?

Tell me about it!!! These are two awesome amps and instead of enjoying the outstanding comparison clips, some people have to get their undies in a wad debating which is the best ideal VH amp, etc.

They're definitely both great amps. There's also nothing wrong with debat.

Not sure I've seen wadded up panties but I will say that I'm working in a hot shop today so mine are definitely a bit sweaty.

Nothing wrong with debating at all!! Both great amps for sure as I own one of them and A/B'd both at TM. Same guitar/same cab!!

Sweaty wadded up undies is no fun!!!

This is actually quite timely for me. I have one amp I want to get next year with my bonus.

An awesome Marshall based unit. The Chupa seems great. Some like the CCV, Friedman has a few, Rhodes Collosus. Of course the Cherry Bomb will be on the list.
