I would definitely try before you buy. You have two great amps, but if they do not do it for you then moving on is the thing to do. I have not heard that many CCV clips that i honestly like compared to the Marshalls Mark modified with the Aldrich and Jose mods. But hey those are my ears and internet clips so buying or not buying based on them really is not the way to go. For that amount of coin there are so many options out there to get you that growl you are talking about though IMHO. A lot of the Cameron owners will tell you the feel is the selling point along with the tone and I know the Cameron Aldrich I had the please of playing for a while was excellent. Good luck with your decisions, selling two great amps to fund one is a tough choice.

I prefer the Cameron modified Marshall's over the CCV's that I've heard/played myself. And the loud volumes that some claim where the CCV shines over a Modded Marshall are soo loud it's not an issue IMHO. Funny thing is everyone cranks up amps way louder at ampfests than what most any soundman would let you use in most regular sized clubs.

I wouldn't sell my Bogner that I love for one that's for sure.

Shawn, I do love most of what the XTC can do, but I do not love it 100%. I guess I am ready for something different. I do not know of very many guitarists who play through and love one piece a gear for a long period of time.

I see you are a Wings fan? Awesome!!! I am originally from the Detroit area and next to music/playing the guitar, hockey is it for me!! Too bad I have to deal with the Hawks fans in the Chicago area!!

Sell Them...

Funny!!! Yeah, I might wait a bit on that one!!! I hate having GAS!!!

Explain to me why the Cameron CCV is considered one of the best high gain amps for hard rock/metal?

PLAN B: Dig up some money and buy a CCV. Then sell whichever ones you like the least, or keep them all.

Thats what credit cards are for. Time your billing cycle, buy it, and you now have almost a month to pay it. If you go in to the next cycle and you have to pay a little interest so be it. I have two Bogners. I ordered a CCV. When the balance is due I'll pay it and sell one of the Bogners and maybe something else. If I don't love the CCV, I'll sell it and move on to the next thing.

Sounds like a great idea, but I unfortunately have to answer to the wife for major purchases like this!!! LOL!!

:checkthisout: i missed that review....also, you best hold onto an amp or you may find yourself playing air guitar.

There are modded marshalls that Mark did I would rather have myself.

The $1300+ saviongs goes a long way.

Selling amps you love is not something I subscribe to, rather odd process of elimination.

Peanut butter was too expensive. Tuna is where it was at!

I read this one of the guitar/amp review site. It was just a quote and an opinion of a few people. I have plenty of amps actually, so no worries there!!!

I think if you love the fluidity and mid growl/grind of the XTC, you would love the CCV too. You can hear Bogner's influence on Mark's designs IMO, at least with the CCV I owned. The CCV reminded me a lot of the XTC, with more emphasis on the mid growl, and a tighter more percussive lowend.

Erock, well that is what I am talking about, more emphasis on the mid growl with a tighter more percussive low end. I cannot seem to get enough of that out of the 101B and I am not knocking the 101B since it is a damn great amp. If I did not think so, I would of got rid of it a long time ago. I have had it since 2000.

LOL!!! Yeah, but with 4 amps and a bunch of guitars, it would probably not fly adding another expensive amp!!! In time though!! I have been through this for 18 years!! LOL!!
