Thx...but as you can hear, when I’m not playing high gain my playing sucks.

Sounds great! Def something I would be interested in.

What’s that wire to the left preamp tube? Ground?

I like this sound clip, sounds really good.
Well done!

What happens if you have an effects loop in the amp ? I have a JMP 2204 that I’d love to put this thing in, but I want a Metro Loop too. Anyone know ?

should be no problem.

Im guessing the "hot mod" isn't UL approved ?

Didn't Soldano offer something very similar to this once upon a time?

This is a prototype. It is grounded to the V1 tube socket base. Same way the Hot Mod and Hot Mod II does it... to a tube socket.

For someone who doesn’t think it sounds good, you sure are interested in it.

Good question and my guess is that since the Metro loop typ goes right before the PI (V3) and takes whatever signal exists at that point (could be plexi, could be JCM800, could be Jose) then it should work fine but might take a small, easily made adjustment.

That is one of the great features of that loop, that it can take a wide range of input signal and still work fine. There is usually plenty of signal to drive the power amp to full power.

It should still work fine. That said, I’ll try to confirm.

I like the bass response, and the mids sound ripping, but it sounds so hairy. Maybe that's the thing. It reminds me of Crate Blue Voodoo.

There are a bunch of these type of things available. All look very similar. Plenty of clips too. I just ordered the Lynch version that has a knob and depth switch.

Ive seen a clip of your 80 JMP in a Cusak screamer demo and that thing is a monster by itself & sounds great. First clip wasn't bad really.
I admire great engineering of all types. I didn't know it was a prototype.
Huge liability is selling items that aren't safe. Strange anomalies possible in electronics.
The ground on that should be reworked.

I completely agree about the grounding. There is a though to use a spade connector off a transformer for a better ground. Also the thumb screw as used in the hot mod II is an idea. The tube shield was a quick way to accomplish a ground for this project.

One thing to note in my video is that I didn’t touch any tone controls when moving to clipping. There are also two clipping settings, but in my laziness I only showed max clipping. The unit is pretty versatile.

Ground issue has been resolved and will be explained to customers(initial self-subsidized researchers) before "research". Trust me the first "transactions" will not be public and by word of mouth thanks to "Amp Karens" hoping to report UL violations even though some of the biggest amp makers right now were selling and manufacturing amps without a UL certification for years.

Also this post doesn't mean we are not working with the UL for certification but just want to give you a guys an idea of what we are working against. We had similar road blocks in trying to get the CCVs made again and that's all I will say,

When the product is listed for sale It will follow all .gov guidelines and Karen approved.
