Cameron type amps

Maybe I missed it , but I thought this thread was supposed to be about amps that sound/feel like a Cameron ,but it always turns into a bash Mark Cameron thread , and I get that . I'd like to hear more suggestions Cameron type amps that you can actually buy .

Without getting into the pros/cons of each one, similar circuits—design wise—include:

Ceriatone Chupacabra
Ceriatone Yeti
Fortin Cali or Killer Kalli or whatever
Dan Gower Cali
Bogner Helios
Metro Metroplex
Friedman BE100
My "Kraken" mod
Marshall 2555
Jose Arredondo mod (if you can find one)
Henning Amplification might be another option

Probably a bunch of others I'm forgetting. I think maybe Surreal Amplification makes something and maybe FJA and maybe some others.

All of these amps are different. But they are all also within the same camp, so to speak. Some sound good to me. Some do not. Some sound good to other people. Some do not. Arguing about which one does and doesn't sound good is like arguing over one's favorite french fries. But in terms of the raw circuit design and what the amps are trying to do... they'll all get you there.

Technically, I guess... the bare-bones, base design of any of these amps is just a Marshall JCM800 with a "Jose" master volume. The next evolution would be a few voicing tweaks in the preamp. Then the next evolution would be adding two bright switches over each gain control. Then the next evolution would be more voicing changes. But at the end of the day, grab a JCM800 and $10 in parts and you're there... to start.

There's also just the tried and true JCM800 with a boost.

Yup.... all I use anymore is a stock JMP boosted.... not sure you can get any better!!!

I really wish. I'd sell off all of my Cameron amps for massive profit and laugh all the way the way to the bank.

Mark has good ears, but for me, I prefer modded amps. Personally, I've never cared for the JMP and JCM800 amps in stock form. I've owned bunches of them each time with the hopes I will like it.

I had to try one several years ago.. I got one with the rotary switch on the back from a recording studio in LA.. I didn't really like all the compression and bass so I sold it to Lugo. I think he ended up selling it too.

At last count MC still owed about $30K in liquid assets & still owed some people their amps that were suppose to be modded that wernt.

With interest it would be more.

From 2008 to 2011 i researched who to send my amp to get mods, my common sense told me to avoid MC with a 10 foot pole but people continued to rave about him just like now despite the fact that peoples cash & amps were being sent to Mark never to be seen again. If it wern't for people being honest here posting about his bullshit i would be missing a JMP and $1500.

Someone told me yesterday Marks not doing so well financially take it for what its worth.

Some of you Fuckers think you gotta be roomates with someone to figure out they aint trustworthy.

As for ripping Mark i just posted this yesterday :
