TBH I wouldn't buy a semi hollow again that I couldn't lay hands on first. You could get a dog or you could get something that might be your favorite axe ever. More likely you get an average guitar but vs a solid body I think the particular instrument can vary more greatly among the same or similar models. A good semi or full hollow thinline really sings acoustically which translates to a great plugged in tone.
