TBH I wouldn't buy a semi hollow again that I couldn't lay hands on first. You could get a dog or you could get something that might be your favorite axe ever. More likely you get an average guitar but vs a solid body I think the particular instrument can vary more greatly among the same or similar models. A good semi or full hollow thinline really sings acoustically which translates to a great plugged in tone.

Franklin sent me a private offer of $639 on that red Ultra 2 body, I almost did it. I can't see the point of having two of them.

Don't be afraid to throw some distortion at those pickups, they handle it well.

I am curious to know how much the belly cut helps.. I can not gel with a normal tele due to that, Les Pauls dont bother me though.

I had a GL blues boy which i traded for this. My other is a squier affinity.
Which for $229 is a fabulous guitar
