You don’t have to root for Iran. But it’s a bad look when a Shia Muslim country is going to bat for christians of the Middle East than the so called Christian United States.

Some of those are among the oldest Christian communities in the world, and are numbered among my orthodox brothers and sisters. It's sad though, American Christianity is quite detached from most of it, and to a large degree do not hold to the faith in the same way. I think they auto assume palestine/syria/lebanon=muslims. I don't understand it tbh, but at the same time, and in their defense, they have had the israel=chosen people lie shoved down their throats by their "faith leaders" for decades. A plain reading of Deuteronomy ends that charade, but most people do not read their bibles anymore. I know because we used to buy all the donated bibles in the thrift shop until we had more than we had space to keep.

I've never been of the opinion Israel belonged to jews by diving right. Israel belongs to jews because no one in the middle east is big enough to take it from them.

And all those land sales, which is used as an argument, were sales done by what would be akin to landlords selling a property with no regard to any tenant.
