I just can't agree. It would have to be a toss up between Seasons and Divine.

I will say South of Heaven has a couple of my favorite songs ever and is a definite third place but I liked both Seasons and Divine better as a whole.

I am 35 however and the first Slayer I ever heard was not Haunting the Chapel. I did own every single Slayer album after I heard them until that cover CD Undisputed Attitude. I did not really like that and then Diabolus was a major let down.

I got God hates us all thinking Slayer would return but the title track was the only good track to me. I have not even heard their latest album. Maybe it is great idk?

IMO they had an amazing run but can never be as good as they were back in their prime.

Now after seeing this I was urged to check out Repentless. Pretty cool, almost sounds like Slayer.

Can we agree that Kerry King is still the 2nd best guitarist in the band?

Really? I think undisputed attitude is a total gem. Hardcore done right. Fantastic production too. Brings out
the best out of drummer Bostaph. Oh well, you like what you like.

Absolutely my brotha, absolutely. To this day, the first two minutes of the song "Hell Awaits" is still one of the, if not
THE heaviest, most evil fucking pieces of music ever recorded. The guitar tone literally sounds like demons growling.
Then the rest of the tune is like punk from Hell. That album simply destroys beginning to end, man. Lightning in a
mothafuckin bottle...

RIB for me as well but Hell Awaits and Chemical Warfare live are the shiznit! South of Heaven 2nd for me. I actually dig how they got more experimental with half time beats and slower tempo's on it but still had plenty of fast stuff.

Love the way D. Sardy had Bostaph sounding on Undisputed Attitude. Shame they couldn't do an original record together. Records after Season's have great songs but all killer no filler was a thing of the past.

Let's not forget Decade of Aggression, that album has the heaviest version of Hell Awaits. Guitar tones on the first cassette is epic,IMO. Just like Randy Rhoads tone on the Tribute album, my favorite of all time.

I still have that album on rotation regularly, as Reign in blood.

I used to know riffs from all of their songs back in the day, my friends thought I was a guitar god or something....LOL. Far from it though, very far. Lol

Yeah man I just never liked that kind of stuff. I did like DRI way back when but I was never much into punk. I listened to a bit of COC and Bad Brains but as far as any old Hardcore that I was really into, I liked the Crumbsuckers quite a bit and bands like Madball, Integrity, Breakdown, Candiria and Earth Crisis. I preferred the heavy mosh pit Hardcore vs the punk type.

I could give Undisputed attitude another listen I suppose. It was one of those CD's that I listened to once and never listened to again because it didn't do anything for me at all. Obviously it wasn't Slayer and that's what I wanted to hear at the time I suppose.

Bostaph is an amazing drummer but I think he did a fine job on Divine. He made a statement on that Album. The entire band did. Everything from the Album name to the first 5 seconds of the CD with his badass drum fill to start the CD to the music was just unbelievable to me. 213 is probably my favorite Slayer song along with Killing Fields.

Dittohead is an incredibly badass tune.

I'll agree. At one time, in my top five albums all time. South of Heaven is killer. Followed by Reign in Blood and Seasons. Ghosts of War is the best.

I saw Slayer on the RIB tour in 86 at a club in SF called the Stone which is sadly long gone. Man what a crazy show , bodies were flying everywhere. I remember the crowd chanting Piece By Piece but the band didn't play it , Tom said that song required an orchestra.
