You know it is funny, my wife and I were both offered jobs in Galveston just after graduating College.....if there are more folks in Texas like you, I guess that is another thing I can be thankful about us turning those jobs down.
Dude, he's a good guy. I think people are equating each other's government with the actual people a little too much under the current circumstances. People in Texas are great. Especially all the way down south. Some of the nicest people I ever met in my life were many generations removed Mexican Americans down in Donna, Texas. Salt of the earth those people.

Anything you buy have aluminum or steel in it? How about copper, silver, gold, lithium. Potash helped grow much of the food produced in North America. Oil, gas. Wheat, canola, flax, etc... beef.
The sky won't fall.

I'm from northern MN, and I very much suggest you don't go there unless you are an asshole in which case you will fit right in. Galveston is a beach town. Have you ever lived in a beach town before? Let me just say that in a beach town guys like me are the least of your worries. Besides, I live in central TX and we love everyone here even in those "bless your heart" moments.

Most Americans aren't as dickish as the belligerent folks here. Just click ignore if they're assholes.

" Just click ignore if they're assholes"

Or if you're butthurt because they won't respond to your copy and pasted from MSNBC drivel.

Let's say inflation, consumer confidence index and my portfolio.
I don't think any of those really reflect economic conditions for the average American worker. To keep things simple, how about we say for you to win this gentleman's bet 2025 real GDP growth rate needs to exceed 2024's 2.8%?

Are you fucking kidding me ? You think GDP matters more to average American workers than inflation ? Your screws are getting loose brother.

The official GDP number is absolute bullshit. Do you really believe the number they are throwing around?

The only reason there was any positive GDP was because of the 2 trillion Briben spent on illegal varmints.

It was actually 2.8%. I'm not sure why you guys trust inflation data more than GDP. And inflation only matters to the average worker if wages aren't keeping up.

Because GDP is calculated by crooked politicians and inflation is what the people see everyday.

10 years ago my Tacoma cost 30k, now it cost 50k. Inflation is obvious and GDP is massaged to sound fair.

It's been happening for decades and little or nothing was said or done save for maybe during a short span in the 70's. Only until it accelerated under money printing during covid has anyone woken up.

I was in Northern MN a week and a half ago, and I am going again this upcoming week, for what may be the last time in a long while.

Inflation data is massaged too, probably more than GDP. Look, I'm just trying to keep it simple. If you have a better metric then suggest it, but inflation doesn't tell us much. The great depression was highly deflationary. The stock market reflects Fed money printing and corporate buy-backs as much as the true state of the economy and CCI is just a survey.

My Wife worked in the US for a few years. I spent 50 % of my time there when she did. I have traveled throughout the US hundreds and hundreds of times. I have friends in the US, they are NOT anything like these fools who post the nonsense here.

Duluth is ok in the summer. The best places I know of up there are all in the woods away from other Minnesotans.

Watching the price of gold. It's not that gold is rising, it's that the dollar is weakening.

Gold was about $1900 in 2021 now it $2800. there is your inflation percentage.

Totally. I've toured down the western States to Texas with some American bands and 90% of the people were great.

Gold hedges inflation. One day in the near future it might be $50,000 in the near worthless US dollar.

If you go by historic measurements, when a reserve currency fails, gold will be about 250k per ounce.
