Hi! I want to try out the Mesa boogie rectifier cab but it has 8ohm input. My amplifier has 4, 8 and 16 ohm output and I also have the captor X 16 ohm. Please help me understand how I can use my captor, amplifier and the speaker? Should I buy a new one for 500 euro just to be able to use with 8 ohm? The reason I don’t want to return my current is because I also use it with 16ohm cabinets.

Good afternoon @vityafx

Ross from Two notes here - thanks for reaching out! Our guidelines state that where possible you should always look to match impedances between your Amplifier and Loadbox. However, with this said you can look to action a deliberate impedance mismatch. We get this question quite a lot so we have created this super helpful knowledge base article: https://www.two-notes.com/en/knowledge-base/can-i-mismatch-the-impedance-of-the-amp-and-load-box/

Please have a look at this and let me know if you have any questions!

Kind regards,

Ross
