I never looked into Caswell, as the only thing I knew of Caswell was their work with the Soldano X99. That Caswell 39 looks pretty sweet!! Bet it costs a small fortune though...

The only Caswell i owned was a Marshall I sent him for the #39 mod.

Look at diezel, cornford, engl, elmwood, wizard.... Diezels up to that price and above now, a wizard modern classic 100 is 4495 and hell thats what I play. The cornfords go up to 4k. So its not unreal, its just the top tier for new amps. Caswell also has something other amps don't. Yes, there are good amps out there that can be had for half that price, but hey, some people drive ferarri's where others drive a vette... Both still kick major ass, just one is 3-4x as much.
Egnater modulars kick ass too!

I watched the video. From what I could see was that it's a single channel amp with motorized pots that move very quickly. I don't know anything about building amps, but I would think a multi-channel could offer vastly different tones by changing the circuitry of the channels rather than just adjusting gain and EQ of the same channel. It didn't sound that versatile for a $4800.00 amp. It seems this amps tones are geared toward a more vintage crowd (I didn't hear it getting really saturated) that being said,the vintage crowd doesn't really seem to embrace technological advances. As far as it costing as much as Diezel, with Diezel your getting tones and versatility not offered by any other amp. With the 39 your getting a modded plexi with preset recall. Never heard or played the 39 so I may be way off base, just my impression from the video. I wish Caswell luck.

I had serial #2 on order for over 2 years. Finally gave up on it. But I am pretty sure it has three separate pre amp sections. Would love to try one.

The new Caswell #39 amp just got here and kick the pants off the real plexi's and some high gain amps like Bogner XTC and Ubershall. I know it is close to 5k, but you are really getting the best possible plexi sound and the best of hi gain. If you try it, and hear all it can deliver, you will be sold. I cannot believe how amazing and SPOT ON the 50w and 100w Plexi's are. Only, the Caswell may sound better than the real plexi's at the studio. The Hi Gain is equally as impressive. The clean is very good. As good as EL34 can be. This amp is effin scary!!!!

Well, with this economy I am sure they aren't flying off the shelf. This is Tim Caswell's vision for the culmination of all he learned and all he loves.. This is like his "masterpiece." I have talked to Tim many times over the past 5 years about this amp and I really thought it would never come. He was so obsessed with making it exactly what he wanted. His passion paid off. When the economy gets better and word gets out, I an sure they will sell a lot of them. You should definitely reconsider if you can swing it.
