Which speaker would pair better with a V30's? G12T75 or G12C?

Thanks!

I would rather stick with 4 x V30's myself. If I were going to mix (which I don't do), I would choose a pair of G12H 55Hz.

Celestion recommends mixing speakers within 2db of each other, fwiw. G1275T's are 97db and V30's are 100db. It's a pretty common mix though. I'm mixing 2 V30's on bottom with 2 reissue Greenbacks (98db) on top. Sounds pretty good to me. I'm moving away from the whole mixing thing though. Think I'd prefer the same four speakers these days.

I already have the G12T75 and G12C X-patterned in a 4x12, . I want to experiment with 2 vintage 30's on the bottom.
Dave Friedman is doing his cabs that way and I thought I would give it a try. Probably put the G12T75 on top and V-30's on the bottom.
Thanks for the tip on the db's Mr Willy, that makes sense.

I don't notice any volume difference with the greenies on top and the V30's on bottom even though there's a 2db difference between the speakers. Some time ago I used two 4x12 cabs mated to a Dual Rectifier. One cab had V30's and the other had reissue Greenbacks. When both cabs were side by side the volume difference was unmistakable. The V30 cab dominated the Greenback cab. Mixing the speakers in the same cab with the higher db speaker on bottom seems to give the impression of balance because the louder speakers are farther from my ears. Maybe this is just me though, I don't know. If you use the heritage greenies that are rated at 100db then all this is a moot point. Good luck man. If it sounds good to you, that's all that matters anyway.

I had the same experience with V30's and G12-65's. Side by side cabs it was unmistakable. Mixed with 65's on top I didn't notice a volume change. I like greenback's or 65's mixed with V30's.

I'm going to have to disagree. I have a 4x12 with two V30's and two EVH's (100 vs 96dB efficiency) in an X pattern which I love and recommend, and while V30's are indeed dominant, I can still clearly hear what the EVH's are doing to the tone.

And Celestion mentions it's a 3dB difference, not 2, but then they recommend Heritage G12M's mixed with G12H's. 96 and 100dB respectively.

I'm just sayin', if it sounds good to you, it sounds good.

Side by side, my cab is indeed MUCH louder than my buddies Orange cab with Creambacks, though.

:)

Well, Ive never heard the C's paired with anything. I really don't like the T75s, however the week mids of the T75 might be cool if youre looking to tame some of the V30s upper mids.

I have done V30 with H30 before, and my other guitarist currently has V30 and T75. I will say one of the most massive sounding cabs I've played through was a Bogner Uberkab (V30/T75 mix)
