How are the standard loop, as opposed to a Metro loop? I've read cases/complaints that the base model loop sucks tone, is non-buffered, and undesirable. This amp has me very interested in possibly purchasing.

If you want the straight answer email Nik at Ceriatone, aka the owner. Hell tell you the same thing I posted earlier.

They're out of the country?? I found Guitarampsusa that's actually local, and does local sales for Nik. They offer external loop accessories that actually is a buffer. It goes to the loop, and you plug into it. He said it is an expressive, exquisite piece of gear. Allows you to actually fine tune the levels, and stated "you'll now appreciate what good effects sound like"! Very nice guy!

I think I'm in! I'm looking to pick up a used Chupa ASAP. I might even order one new!

I was just saying for info, since he's the designer, he's the source.
But that's Perfect! They are great to deal with. THey have a tube and a ss version, which one are you thinking about?

I've heard great things. I was thinking about picking one up. But really only been playing the butterslax lately. So I'm letting mine go

The loop is not great. I got a Klein-u-lator, but that was just noisy. Ended up using an MXR/CAE line booster, and it was great.

Why would anybody want to buy a dedicated buffer when most non-true-bypass pedals have internal buffers anyway? If you're going to use a pedal in your loop that is already buffered, you have nothing to worry about. The loop in the Chupacabra is the same as every insert-type loop Marshall ever used. So you have nothing to worry about. But no, it is not tube-buffered. If you're worried about it, just have Ceriatone install a buffered loop or something. Or have a local tech do it.
