Just curious if anyone has the inside track on this amp and when it might be coming out. I'm really digging what I'm reading about the Yeti (haven't tried one in person) and a two channel version of that amp would be just about all I could ever hope for for my purposes (play a lot of classic rock to modded Marshall type stuff). Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this.

I asked Nik about it when I bought my Yeti back in June. He still didn't have a release date at that time. Email him and ask him about it. He's really cool and will usually answer you in a couple of hours. I don't know when the man sleeps

Yeah, I emailed him yesterday. Just waiting to hear back.

Did you get a reply yet? I've got the Yeti. Cool bit of kit. I only use about 2% of the gain in that thing though, perhaps I should have just got a Superlead.

Nic got back to me but no real news to report. He said...

"We're indeed working on it, but schedule is very tight currently.

It will indeed be a classic marshall + higher gain channel indeed, in the
same vein as a Cameron CCV amp."

So, not sure if that means like the Yeti/Chupacabra or not. I suppose we'll just have to see what it's like when it's ready.

These are going to sell like hotcakes.....

......to a bunch of sausages.

So, if it's a Yeti/Chupa combo, it's basically going to be a modded Marshall tone on Channel 1 with a Jose circuit on Channel 2? So, two channels of dirty, in yo face gain? WHAT ABOUT THE CLEANS?!

Sounds to me like it's going to be a vintage Marshall-style channel plus a modded Marshall-style high gain channel.

That's exactly my hope for it. My issue with the Yeti isn't what it already does, it's that I need a foot switchable vintage/hot rod type amp and not just one channel that can be dialed into those. Being able to switch between Plexi and Hot Rodded 2204 circuits that are already in the Yeti on the fly would be perfect for me from a gigging perspective. Dial back the guitar volume on the Plexi channel for cleans.

Henning Cherry Bomb?

It's on the radar as a matter of fact. I just have a hard time putting out that kind of coin sight unseen (told myself I wouldn't donthat again). I know he has a return policy, but 10% of $3k and shipping is hard to swallow if it's not what I'm looking for.

Still, definitely considering it. Perhaps once the profile pack comes out I can try it with my Kemper and have a better idea of the tonal possibilities and feel. The features are perfect on paper though.

That's crazy, wonder if they got hold of a ccv and are building his take on the circuit? They seem to run smoothly over there.

They have reverse engineered the CCV, but they're offering a much better deal. Only $1000 down and they promise not to deliver your amp for any length of time that you specify.

Pricing is $2950 right now and shipping is free. I will only charge the 10% re-stocking fee if the amp comes back in a different state than it went out... You won't want to send it back...

This is awesome right here.

I try to be impartial. But having owned a CCV, VH4, Uberschall, Chupacabra, Rectifier, Einstein, Hot Cat, and a bunch of other amps... to me, the stuff from Ceriatone is hard to beat for the money. The Chupa I had was awesome. And I paid $600 for it. Granted they are more expensive now. But still, $1,000 is hard to beat for the amp you get.

I've never played the stuff from Friedman or Gower or Henning or anything. But when it comes to the modded Marshall sound, I'm thinking they're all relatively similar. And having dealt with Ceriatone in the past on a few of their kits as well as with the Chupa, I'd have no reservations buying one sight unseen. The quality is there, in parts, build, and sound.

Yeah I too can vouch for Ceriatone. I own three now, all incredible. The Yeti nails so many different flavours of Marshall. Usually I find amps that set out to do too much don't quite do any of them right, but this thing nails Plexi, 800 and Metal. Only thing about it for me is that it's perhaps made me realise that I might just be a straight up Plexi man. I very rarely stray from the '60's mode. :)

Nice to hear the plexi mode on these switchers can deliver as well.. it's a tall order to make something sound plexi-ish so i am guessing they are more like a JMP (due to the master volume) and he switches from a modified 2204 circuit into a hot rod channel then goes from there tweaking with Jose Master diodes type of deal. Is that about right? Doesn't look like the Yeti or Chupa had an extra preamp tube.
