Might as well have some fun... Follow along as I build a Ceriatone Son of Yeti lunchbox head... :D

I am a big fan of the classic tone trannies as well. The complaints that people have with ceriatone, I wonder if when they refer to the Ceriatone sound, are they in part referring to the effect that the stock transformers have on the tone? Either way, I am interested in how this turns out. Looks like an amp with a lot of features and it peaked my interest. In a market of current release and soon to be released lunchbox amps, this one definitely has a ton of tone shaping capabilities.

I can tell you that the Fortin Cali Ceriatone 800 I had needed the PT replaced. I replaced it with a classic tone and it improved the tone for me. Wasn't bad by any means before, just liked it better after. Good luck with the build!

Nice! I love following these threads. I've done a couple of builds so it's always interesting to see people do them.

Cool man. I never seen those tube sockets before. Are they beefy?

Did you get all the hardware from Ceriatone or order some of it elsewhere?

.Got the sockets from ebay and the trannies from Magnetic Components

Now a ratsnest of wires to be sorted out and hooked up...Changed the mid tone cap to a .047uF, too.

Did a bit more today. Mounted the power transformer and started with this...

Wired it up...

It even lights up the tubes... Progress!

Ok...I was on vacation, but I'm back to the build now...

Wired up the OT and impedance switch. Decided to put a variable feedback pot in(100K)
and lowered the feedback resistor from 47K (measured at 54K,,, carbon comp) to 33K.
Also mounted the MetroAmp loop off the back because the drilled holes don't match the board.
Should be a lot better than the stock passive effects loop.

Got Merlin Blencowe's guitar preamp book and will try some ideas from it in here...

Oh....Built up a cab for it too. TRM pine convertible 2x12 with Scumback m55's. Cab sounds great!
