Books on amp building

Designing Valve Guitar Amplifiers by Merlin Blencowe
I bought these, but haven't read much out of the power supply book.
He taught me Star Grounding.. U can follow the black wires to the 1 bolt where they all come together..
This is my version of a Trainwreck Express..

Merlin’s books are what you’re looking for. Just buy anything he’s written and read it as the honest truth. Decades ago I bought his preamp book before I went to college for EE.

I will say some of his suggestions are hand wavy - like technically they’re correct but objectively everything has an effect on tone.

The ones by Kevin O'Connor?
Which volume(s) would be the best to start with?
I want to get Volume 3 since it discusses a few amps I'd want to build, but don't know if I could jump right in to the series with that one or not?

I'm not sure which ones off the top of my head. I bought like 5 of them and they were all useful. Just look at the topics and see what looks interesting. As you learn more, you'll figure out what is relevant and what isn't.

It's been a while since I read them, but I've got the Kevin O'Connor series, too, and I didn't think they needed to be read in order or anything. From what I recall, Vol. 1 and Vol. 3 were as good as any place to start.

Personally, I got a lot of milage out of Gerald Weber's books, too.
