It's been on my bucket list, and I think I can swing it.. I've been eyeing a Splawn Competition on Ebay, but I think I want the Engl! If Aldrich was involved at some point, (and Gary Moore seemed to dig it), I'm in!

They are excellent! just look for the newest version, it has a switchable efx loop and takes 2 1/4 jacks for the switching

Great deals can be had on these used, I bought one for $1K and it ripped!

I had an older one and it was outstanding.....my favorite Engl and I've had most of them.

Looks like I'll be rejoining the Splawn camp, after all.. I couldn't get the deal I was looking for on an Artist, and with the deal I got on a mint 2018 Competition, it was a no-brainer.

Picked up one on closeout from DAG in 2017. Pretty versatile 4ch. head but needs the Z-9 footswitch for total access. Great for live work. The cleans are not completely Fendery, but solid. Even sorta plexi tones available - but really shines on the heavy stuff. Plan to run a stereo rig w/ Rev. F/Artist heads using an 80's TC Chorus stereo ouputs.
