I'm sure many of you are familiar with Rob Chapman, aka Chappers, and already think he's a pretty nice guy.
I just came across this vid of his which just backs that up.
Chappers, if you've been reading this, respect man!

Class act... I've seen a lot of people trash him over the years, I've been a subscriber to his channel for years now, think he's a great guy... killer player too... perfect example of what can be accomplished through the internet these days...

BULL!!!! HE DISAGREES WITH SCOTT GROVE!!! CLASS ACT MY ASS!

Very cool of Chappers to do that.

I'm sure there's guys that'll bag on him. Guitarists are a jealous lot.

I'm so sick of this guy. A self promoting a-hole who found his niche, making endless YouTube videos. Get a fucking job.

Very cool.

To me it seems he already has a job, Carl.

I like Chappers, sometimes he can get a bit silly in his reviews but he brings tons of product reviews to the market, is a killer player, has fun, and has been successful with his line of guitars and music. So he knows how to market himself, props to him for doing so. You can't really shit on him for helping out Nellie. He could have just kept the cash..I think it is a nice gesture. He gets the big picture because he doesn't tour stadiums.

He has a job, one much more fun than mine

I think it would be much more beneficial to this guy to ship him off to the nearest dentist to get his teeth whitened.

Thats great. Really good gesture.

How can you not support him doing that?

Good on you Rob!!!

Ha! but the answer is simple.. english don't really care that much about their teef'!

disclaimer: I don't really believe that, just reminds me of the Simpsons episode with the "British book of smiles"

Nah... if he really was a good guy he'd have done everything in that video without filming it !!!
That's just more ego stroking and self promoting by him.
" I'll get my team to .... " ... ego maniac.

Sorry but I'm never impressed by this guy.

If he didn't film him the first time the guy wouldn't have made the money he just gave him and if he didn't film him playing again this time and explain the reason why he was giving the money along with telling him the things he was willing to help out with (while covering all costs and giving him a free guitar) the viewing audience would not exist for the guys new youtube page so he'd have no followers and it would be one tiny act of $80 (or whatever it was) instead of potential for further money for a guy who obviously needs it via youtube revenue from followers...which he now has just shy of 14,500 followers awaiting his first video on the new page Chappers set up for him.

Like him or not he used his large youtube following to help a guy out and I don't see how anyone can complain about that.

Anonymous donations are great but it's always just one donation. If a person with celebrity of any sort announces they're donating to X charity or helping out this guy or that family or whatever you know other "regular" people and celebs will follow suit and further help that person. It happens all the time and it's one of the best uses of celebrity there is. A celeb gives money to a family that lost their house, a lumber company sees that and donates materials to build a new one, an appliance company donates a new fridge and stove, a car company gives them a new car etc etc. If it was done silently they would just have the initial money which is great but the chain reaction of good deeds is far better than one good deed.

I like Chappers, I generally enjoy his vids. Mainly seen him with the Captain for Andertons UK vids.

So is he planning to donate the money he'll make from that video too ?
plus the gullible ones who think he's a nice guy so subscribe to his YouTube channel, thus earning him more money ???

I repeat, if it was a genuine gesture, do everything without self promotion.

:D

Not aimed at you of course, but that is absolutely THE most sweeping & false generalization of English or British people by Americans. In fact I have no idea where that even came from, given just how much better & available dental & free medical health is in the UK than it is in the states. There will be an absurd number of people in the states who cannot afford dental treatment & also choose not to pay for it. Add that to the number of people in the states who live in poverty or who are homeless or victims of the crystal meth problem etc etc etc.
Or is it that the norm in america is to have your teeth veneered & bleached so that they don't look like normal teeth anymore? Maybe the rest of the world just aren't as mind-bendingly shallow & concerned with their external appearance from decades of media subjection? Who knows.

Don't ALL Americans carry a gun with them, ride horses, wear stetsons, say 'yeeeehaaaaaaaw' all the time & are absurdly & morbidly obese?

I Jest ;)

Q: What's the shortest book ever written?

A: "Great Moments in British Dentistry"
