I’ve never been a Tele fan, the shape has always reminded me of a beluga whale head and I can’t get the whale image out of my head when I see one.

Feels cheap, sounded and played like crap. Extremely disappointed in the fit and finish and overall build quality. For $899 with no bag or case...no thanks.
I eventually found this one on Ebay. $875 with the original bag, a much better built, playing and sounding guitar.
The new MIM Charvels simply don’t compare to the old U.S. Pro Mods in my opinion and there are still deals to be had on these.
Again, just my experience and opinion. YMMV.

Well that kinda sucks. I played one this week and agree that the setup was crappy. Strings were also dirty as hell. It's a light guitar. Overall, I didn't think it sounded bad.
What was it about the build quality? Thanks for sharing!

I played one of the newer one's with the roasted maple, it was a real ugly Orange finish. The neck felt nice except for ALL the frets hanging over the edge of the board, felt like it would slice your hand if you slid up and down fast. Besides that....I don't know, I'd pay $400 for one, not 1k.

I have loved Charvels since seeing George Lynch, Warren DeMartini, and Jake E. Lee playing them back in the day. I have a Warren DeMartini custom that I got from someone here on the forum for a great price, otherwise I couldn't afford it either.
