I still remember that tone you got once on the vid demoing Brad's Diezel Herbert Rig. It sounded awesome on the vid, but I cannot find it back. Would love to compare the two.

I actually had that on my old computer that died, but by strange coincidence, just recovered it (along with tons of other stuff) today. I'll throw it up on my youtube channel long enough for you to see it (I will edit this post with the video when it is uploaded).

EDIT - Here you go (hope you don't mind Mark, I'll take it down if for whatever reason you don't want it posted):

"Brown Eye" and "Hot Head" should not go in the same title.....

Good stuff though

Amazing tone mark!!thanks for talking me into a be-100!should be here in three weeks!!

How do you personally like that Tascam mic? Do you mount the phone somehow for recording?

Killer Friedman set up you have there!

Mark,

How do the Hotheads compare to the Aldrich? I am really liking the sound of the Friedman BE100 amp. I played through one at TM and it rocked!!!

so you got tired of the Blackouts after all?

I have Blackouts in my PRS SC and my Indie Floyd. I would however change them to HH given the opportunity.

The Herbert sounded cool, but the BE100 slays it it real life. The BE is just huge sounding.

Thanks Reza, we need to do lunch soon! Hey I changed the FLoyd out on my Strat to a Schaller Floyd Rose...huge difference. Swapped out the pick guard and put in a HH and two Suhr s/c's
now it's a real guitar lol.

It's fine dude.
It sounded great, not even close to the BE100 imho. Brad sold this head as soon as he got it home lol.

If I'm not mistaken Taylor Bingley bought this Herbert (tech and road manager for Gojira). He was in the shop last week playing through my BE100...he almost cried. He said "Fuck now I have to get rid of my Herbert to get a Brown Eye"
He said it slayed his Herbert :)

I've been running my Marsha with a M75/H75 mix, but noticed that the friedman cabs have a greenback/V30 mix.

Can anyone compare the difference of H75 vs V30 mix? I've never actually owned a V30 speaker so I'm curious...maybe I should try one.

Awesome Mark!! Like the fact you always throw some Lynch in there too :)

Looking forward to the rack video as well.
Now I must find a SDE 3000 :)

It's the video, the tone on that old vid has so. much. gain.
I think you're using two MXR micro amps or what.
Still it stays transparent and tight.
On that recording it slays.

BE appears to have a bit less gain on the recording. Sounds nice but a bit dark.

I would take a Friedman over a Herbert definitely!

Goddamn Mark! So much crunch and clarity yet so warm at the same time. Not only have convinced me to now get some MC Pups, but I may just pull the trigger on an SDE 3000! Love your use of vibrato and choice of notes while phrasing.

Hope I can dial my Friedman modded Marshall close to this!

Curious how you'd compare/contrast it to the Suhr SE and PT amps.

I cant believe you shot this with a FKN iPhone. It is surprisingly good, for a phone cam.

The SDE3000 delays are awesome!!! That is all I use with my Atomica and my previous amps. Oh and Wade's pickups are outstanding.

The Suhr amps are outstanding. My SE+ had a low mid hump thing that attracted me to it in the first place but lately I found myself trying to eq that out of it to get mire of a Marshally tone.
After listening to and playing Dave's amps for the last 7 months I knew I really wanted back that Marshall style tone but with Dave's mods, so I got the BE100. I started out playing in the late 70's using JMP's and lately I've been really gassing for that tone again.
Dave's amps are like the JMP I always wished they'd made :)

This is what makes the iPhone sound good :)
