Wow. That says a lot. My Coliseum, as powerful as it is, doesn't punch like the 100w MCI I had. It gets louder; but the Wizard just punches you like no other. My Monomyth 2204 is at least if not more punchy than the 50w MTL I had 2 yrs ago.RedPlated":21jdc0zj said:Fitrocker33":21jdc0zj said:You just described a wizard too![]()
FWIW, I’ve had 4 Wizards. Two MCii 100’s and two MTL 100’s. They are great. They don’t sound best until they’re pretty loud, which can be a drawback. The Monomyth sounds better at low volumes (and higher volumes for that matter) and makes the Wizards seem small like a Wizard does to most other amps. Crazy, but true.
After getting this 2204 back from Shea in December, 3 months later I can say it is the best Marshall I've ever owned. Low/medium/high volume, doesn't matter. I just sounds and feels amazing. Doesn't discriminate with tubes either...I can throw in JJ 12ax7s or others from my vintage stash and it kills with any combination. Just different flavors depending on your tube choice.
