Choose: Fulltone Full Drive II Vs Xotic BB Preamp.....

I need three things out of the pedal:

1) Clean boost/tube break up type of tone
2) Hendrix/SRV low gain
3) Bonamassa Fat but smooth and creamy Leads


I like the idea of having an extra Boost button in the Fulldrive, but I wanna go with the best sounding pedal too.

which one would you choose?

well, they're different in tone right but basically the same in the way they hit the preamp section, am I correct?

that's why I listed the 3 things I mostly intend to do with it so you can all have a clearer idea and can choose.

I don't know man, I've just never gotten that "sound" out of all the pedals I've tried compared to an all out raw amp tone. My Keeley tube screamer does a great job. I have NOT tried the Fulltone though. I would think it also depends on what amp you're slapping it onto as well (50W Einstein or 20W amp)

I'm very happy with my amps and the lower gain tones I get from them, but I wanted an OD pedal to have more tonal options. I really like the way the BB sounds, but I also like the Fulltone sound, but again I'm not experienced with pedals much so I don't trust my ears based on a video in youtube that much you know what I mean?

Plus there's the "feel" thing too which you definitely cannot get through just watching.

You are pretty much talking about 3 different pedals, in my experience.

For #1 A Klon Centaur or Timmy would be my choice
#2 Tubescreamer type, ie Maxon OD-808, OD-9, MI audio blues boy, etc.
#3 This would be the BB preamp, Hermida Zendrive, Hermida Mosferatu

The FD-II Mosfet will get everything you need, IMO.
Besides the Boost, it has a 3-way swtich (comp-cut, flat mids, vintage)and Mosfet switch.

I have never tried the fulldrive II, but own a BB. I love it. It is smooth with tons of sustain. But, I don't know if it will do Bonamassa tones. I would suggest the Wampler Super Ecstasy for that.

No I mean, the bonamassa thing I got covered with my Diezels and Little Joe, but I said "bonamassa thing" as a way to discribe a bit more gain and sustain than the typical SRV/Hendrix

but for the full on Bonamassa I have my amps

Gotcha! I agree, I just hate how some gear isn't available around me and I end up scrounging on YouTube just to find ONE video that makes me get another piece of gear lol. Not a good habit. Anyway, good luck! I have a feeling the Fulldrive II - Mosfet might do the trick (from what I've heard to my ears) but again I've never played one except on very low gain and it was pretty thick sounding.

Found it on MySpace. Some Gibson/ store owner guy used it as his MySpace pic.
The original was bigger. I doubt I could even find the page again.

On topic, a FD-II Mosfet driving any of the Deisel's clean/crunch channels, IMO will kill.
