Clean boosts. Whatcha ya using? What application?

I've never really been into them but a lot of people seem to like them. I am recording a lot of clean to semi clean sounds these days with a Fender Super Reverb, Princeton, AC30 and stock JMP. What's the scoop? Best pedal? How are you using and for what per purpose?

James. What are you looking to get? It sounds like a Badgerplex or SHO would do you right to add sparkle.
 
Xotic EP Booster, I leave it on all the time. It just makes everything sound better.
 
Catalinbread Naga Viper or Super chili picoso. I like the Naga because it can push for some dirt and gives you some eq control too.
 
Suhr Koko boost with my BE100 ... Clean boost side for adding more ooomph in songs I need a heavier sound and mid-boost side for solos. Sounds amazing and the ability to toggle between the two boosts is great.

When I'm playing with a "mystery" backline, I like to have either Timmy or Maxon OD808 for boosting as they can also add some crunch and gain of needed.
 
I use a Maxxon VOP-9. Great boost pedal! Nice and clear and works great.

Majik Box Rocket Fuel. Leave it on all the time as a clean boost only with the level just under half-way up. Cleans up like a champ too. Makes any amp sound bigger and more defined with a bigger and tighter bottom end. Purpose is hard-rock, thrash and some modern metal.

A bunch of similar pedals have come and gone but this one stays.
 
I use to use a Keeley katana for volume boosts for leads and it worked well at that. Also have a throbak eq boost which also was cool in a way but not a drastic boost but could be totally neutral as far as affecting guitars tone if wanted. If you want to try out the katana let me know.
 
I have the Keeley Katana, It's awesome. Very clean and transparent.
 
SD-1 w/808 mod for the classic 808 boost, BD-2 for a cleaner edge.
 
I used a BB Preamp for years with my Super Lead. Its a great clean boost, but ultimately I realized I'm more of an OD into a distorted amp kinda guy so I went back to the Maxon OD808

All other options are a variation of this pedal's greatness. It is the god-stomp. Mark my words.

I took Ventura's advice on this and took the plunge on one of these a couple weeks ago. It's the most transparent boost I've ever used. With the knob set to just under noon it fattens and tightens everything up. Once you get past 1 o'clock...woah. Sustain and liquid saturation for days.

If you're looking for a strict clean boost, don't waste your time with any of these boosts that have added tone/gain functions because they add too much colour and if you're like me, you'll end up trying to dial that stuff out. Take the plunge on the MK 4.23.
 
I use a boss blues driver with the volume up and gain turned all the way down. I love it.
 
KoKo boost here too into JCM800. I wish both sides were mid boosts personally but most will disagree with me. I find the boost side adds a fuller thicker sound which I'd actually prefer for leads while the mid boost I love for rythm. Total 80's tones. Great pedal.
 
MXR GT-OD both as a lead boost into a Mark 5 to make my solos a little more fluid sounding (I like to set my rhythm tone fairly dry sounding), and as an always-on boost into a Roadster to tighten it up a bit.

I have a Timmy and an RC Copper that I can drop by if you want to jack around a bit....
 
I have an LBP2 clone that I use for bass. Works great as it keeps the integrity of the bass sound intact.
 
Xotic EP Boost and Koko Boost into a Bogner XTC Classic. The EP give the plexi mode more punch, and the mid boost helps solos cut through.
