Burnett can be hit or miss. One day he gives up 4 dingers, then next it's a shutout with 10 Ks.

I know all about this. He was on a couple of my fantasy baseball teams and I never knew what I was gonna get from him.

Indians fans must be pissed watching Lee V. Sabathia.

Don't get me started :gethim:   .

The indians have become the farm team for the major league. We develop talent and let it go cause ownership doesn't want to pay.

Albert Belle --Prolific Hitter
Manny Ramirez --Future HOF
Omar Vizquel --Future HOF
Bartolo Colon --2005 Cy Young Winner
Cliff Lee --2008 CY Young Winner
CC Sabathia --2007 Cy Young Winner
Jim Thome Future HOF(maybe)
...To name just a few.

Anybody else see a pattern here>>>>?

I'd love for a Charlie Manuel managed team to win another World Series. He should still be managing The Tribe!

Mariano Rivera    Best closer in baseball history.

And AJ Burnett comes up HUGE.

So much for a Phillies sweep.

BURNETT WAS AWESOME TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the Yanks have the pitching edge in the next 2 games. And hopefully their bats will wake up.

I never thought the Phillies would sweep them. I expect it to go 6 or 7 games. If Hamels goes out and wins tomorrow though, I think it's over since Lee will be back out there for game 4 which would put them up 3-1.

I think Blanton pitches game 4.

I predict a Phillies sweep.

Well that prediction just got shot in the ass.

Phillies are hot, Yanks are not.

Both teams are hot. The Yankees ran into a great pitching performance. That doesn't make them cold. I'm far from a Yankee fan, or a Phillies fan. But I see the Yankees outlasting the Phils. The edge is Mariano Rivera. Lidge has been a nightmare. Hamel's isn't the same either. I could see the Yankees coming home up 3-1.

Yanks in 6.

Cliff Lee won't pitch Game 4. You'll see Hamels and Happ (or maybe Blanton). Manuel's all but said it already. Although, I can't imagine why he wouldn't use Cliff Lee in 4 and 7 if necessary. Lee is having a Cinderella season for sure. Anyone who has seen him pitch with Cleveland knows this kind of success was not always enjoyed by him.

Yanks win again. Hamels not sharp again.

Sabbathia versus Blanton with the Yanks looking to go up 3-1. I like the Yanks chances.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hamels pitches an amazing game. I know he's been borderline bad this year, but I just have a feeling he's gonna step it up when he starts. He's gonna be starting game 3 in Philly right?

DOH!

The current Yanks lineup is hitting a collective .265 AVG/.317OBP in 117 AB's against Blanton. I can easily see them losing this one.

It's crazy how Hamels went from being 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA last year to what he's doing now.

Joe Blanton better not lose. I still think Lee needs to pitch game 4, but the numbers for guys pitching on short rest isn't very good in the playoffs so we'll see.

Blanton is so inconsistent. He was great that one year with the A's...then he did nothing but lose games and have a 5-6 ERA...now he's kind of good again. I dunno how you can have any confidence in a guy like that.

Just as easily as you could see a Phillies sweep? Outside of Utley, Sabbathia shut down the Phillies so i could easily see him pitching better this time. And i guess you didn't notice that Arod just woke up. Swisher might be reay to go on a hitting streak. And Matsui is red hot.

Blanton hasn’t had any success against the Yankees, going 0-3 with an 8.18 ERA in four starts. All of those games came with Oakland, where he spent four-plus seasons before joining Philadelphia last year in a midseason trade.

Blanton has also struggled against Alex Rodriguez, who is 4 for 7 with two homers in their matchups

was hoping for a CC/Lee rematch today...3 days rest isnt enough when ya go the distance ;)

a seven game series with CC/lee in games 1, 4 and 7 would have been awesome :)
